Moultonborough Vacation Rental house

I loved staying in this cottage. Brian, the owner, obviously takes good care of it. The house seems very well decorated and well put-together, and much of the furniture looks brand new. The kitchen has all the appliances you need to cook big meals and there are lots of beds, in case you're a group of people (there were only two of us who stayed here, so we didn't need all the space, but I can imagine the house working for a family or a group of friends too).

The best part of the house is that it's so near the lake. It literally takes one minute to walk down to the Suissevale beach and the boats. Riding around in trains and cars during real life gets pretty old--it's nice to go on holiday and just forget about driving around too much! Pretty good value too--as far as I can tell, this house is quite cheap for a rental so near the water.

I love eating out, and there are a bunch of great restaurants nearby, so that made me really happy. There's a nice bar by the beach in town (sorry, but I forget what it's called!) where we had a few drinks and stuffed ourselves full of steamers. There's also this restaurant called Canoe (lobster mac and cheese--yum!) and great ice cream at this store called Skelly's--try the Maine Black Bear, you won't regret it. A bit of a drive down is the town Wolfeboro, where you can eat at The Wolf Trap. Kind of pricey, but we had great steamers and crab there.

There's a golf course nearby (I didn't go though, as I don't play), there are tennis courts in Suissevale itself, there are antique shops if you're into buying old things, there's hiking, fishing, pretty little towns to visit, etc...plus Lake Winnipesaukee is beautiful, of course. But at the risk of sounding like a homebody, I think my favorite part of my whole holiday was staying in the house! The cottage has a nice living room with a stove and a flatscreen TV, so I spent a couple of mornings just lounging around and reading. Very relaxing, and I'll definitely be back!
