A short flight of stairs takes you to three well appointed double bedrooms all with luxurious sprung mattresses and five star sheets. The sumptuous master bedroom has a super king size bed and there are a further 2 double bedrooms each with 2 single/twins sleeping four more people. Large velux pivoting windows let in lots of natural light which can be subdued with awning shades when a dark atmosphere is desired.
To soak away the effects of tramping around London, a steaming hot bath can be had in the oversized old fashioned cast iron tub in the roomy family style bathroom, while the 2nd bathroom has a spacious walk in shower with a large rain effect shower head, a delightful way to start or end your carefree London day.

Notting Hill and the life blood that is Portobello Market is inspiring to be a part of each day. It is a real neighbourhood in the old fashioned sense. Daily trips to Portobello Road for your morning capp, procuring of vegetables & fruit from old fashioned greengrocer stalls in the market itself and generally soaking up the wonderful atmosphere, make this area very special. It has retained it's individual feel through wonderful mix of ethnicity adding to the local flavour. Leafy streets, great architecture and the wonderful open green space of Kensington Memorial Park literally next door are wonderful amenities. The tennis courts in the park and the playground area is a real godsend for kids who need to let off steam after a long day of sightseeing!
This unique home has an abounding sense of space and light from having windows on three sides. The sun rises through the kitchen window and sets through the sitting room windows, while during the day it travels around the 3 windows on the side of the house. The lateral home has great flow and can absorb a family comfortably so everyone has their own space, as opposed to the more typical vertical terraced housing where communal areas tend to be in one room on different floors.
The loft house provided a perfect escape at Christmas time, offering an ideal home away from home for our 8 night stay. Eclectic design and a chef's kitchen, with fantastic delicatessens and other produce nearby, resulted in a warm, welcoming, relaxing and culinary experience. Close enough to London but with a small neighbourhood feel, the location and transport options were ideal for our family's needs.
We are a film production company from Canada and were on the lookout for a location where we could have a small film set up for conducting interviews for TV series we are producing in Canada- and house 3 crew members at the same time. This home worked perfectly for our spec for a 7 night stay. We chose the home because of the spacious downstairs living space which allowed us to set up a small interview area (we had to move some furniture with the help of Marina) and the three separate bedrooms upstairs. Marina was totally professional and on top of it in all our communication leading up to the shoot and throughout it. She was very accommodating on all fronts to make our crew and the home work for their needs. From recommending lunch delivery to be brought in every day to logistical aspects for the shoot, we were well taken care of every step of the way. The home is very quiet and private as it's set off the street and partially faces into a local park, and even though we did not get a chance to enjoy the beautiful furnishings downstairs because of all our equipment, our 3 crew slept well in their comfortable bedrooms upstairs and were able to cook some meals in the fully kitted out kitchen. The area is very well located for local transport with the tube station a short walk away. All in all a total success!
Our family of six (4 adults and 2 children) found Marina's "sunswept loft" to be the perfect home away from home while visiting London. The location of the house was perfect- next to a beautiful park, walking distance to the tube, Portabello Road (and iconic market), and interesting little neighborhood shops and restaurants. The #7 bus stopped right outside our door! The house itself was spacious with plenty of comfortable sleeping room and an open-concept first floor kitchen/dining/living area that was decorated nicely but was easy to relax in. All of the appliances were new and in good working order. The bathrooms were light and spacious and served us well for getting ready in the morning. In fact, the entire house was well ventilated and "sunswept" and even in the warm summer temperatures (80s), it was quite cool with just the occasional use of the fans provided. All in all, we decided that we would stay there again, if we came to London with a group. It was wonderful!
We arrived late (9:55 pm at Heathrow) with family in tow (3 adults and 2 teenagers) and checked ourselves in, using the digicode and keys supplied while we were still Stateside by the owner. The owner addressed all my concerns about that, including a personal U.S. telephone contact to use if needed, in addition to contact info for the onsite person, and our arrival went smoothly despite arriving close to midnight. The house is charming, warm, and welcoming--the gas fireplace being particularly welcome on chilly evenings and early mornings--and sunswept indeed. As it backs onto parkland, it was a pleasure to take my morning espresso standing by the fireplace watching as neighborhood residents and their dogs greeted each other or jogged around the perimeter. The kitchen appliances and equipment are first rate and made it easy to eat in 3 or 4 nights, although one night we ordered pizza delivery that included salads and a bottle of wine. We especially liked being in a pleasant residential neighborhood with easy access to public transportation (bus stops down the street and the Ladbroke Grove tube stop a short walk away), with a large park behind us and Portobello Road a few blocks away. The house is nicely decorated without being stuffy and the main floor, with the kitchen at one end and the fireplace and a seating area at the other and a large round dining table, worked very well for the 5 of us. The 3 bedrooms and 2 baths (one with a large freestanding bathtub and the other with a walk-in shower) upstairs were comfortable and accommodating. The beds were firm, the bath towels were thick, and we never ran out of hot water. We slept with the large skylights open for ventilation at night and it is a quiet neighborhood, so no problems with noise.
This is one of those houses, where the photos are splendid, but the real thing is even better! The house manages to balance being state of the art while also being very comfortable and relaxing.
We stayed for an entire month with our two teenagers and really appreciated the location. We had easy access to the amazing bus system right outside the door and of course the underground. We could go anywhere -- and did! But it was always so nice to go HOME.
The house is beautiful, roomy and so peaceful. It sits back off the street - you enter through a garden and then find yourself in a gorgeous home surrounded by a park. So while you are still very much in London, you can retreat to your own sanctuary.

We highly recommend Marina's lovely, well-appointed and restful flat. For the most part, it's location offered a welcome retreat at the end of our busy days in other areas of London. Marina is attentive to every detail and takes excellent care of her guests. Unfortunately, our first few days there were interrupted by the chaos and commotion of the Notting Hill Carnival. While we would book with Marina again, we would avoid booking anything in Notting Hill the last weekend in August.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Sunswept loft. The pictures and description were accurate and we had no surprises upon arrival. The home was clean, beautifully decorated and the kitchen well stocked with everything that you would need. We are a family of 5 with 2 teenage children and a 9 year old and we were very comfortable in this home. Having a park right next door with fields to play football was an added bonus! Whenever we had any questions, the owner was helpful and prompt with her responses.

A 15 minute bus or taxi ride are Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, Kensington Palace which house Diana’s apartments & The Diana Memorial and Harrod's.
Other Activities: park and playground next door, water feature playground, indoor climbing wall (largest in UK), skateboard park.
