Wonderful stay in this lovely home from home

My partner and I stayed in this sweet and very comfortable cottage whilst on a recent visit to the Berkely area to visit some friends. We are from London Uk and having done a lot of travelling, have become steadily less enamoured of hotels and more inclined to find a friendly and welcoming home atmosphere where you feel much more able to relax and do your own thing and at a far more reasonable rate than you would pay in most hotels.
This was exactly the kind of place we hope to find, comfortable, clean and cosy and with a very welcoming owner who went to loads of trouble to give us information on the area and tell us about the lovely restaurants, cafes and shops close by.
Although the kitchen was very well equipped, we were on holiday, so we would stroll up Soano each morning to the wonderful patisserie La Farine. I was warned that it was a diet wrecker and it was true..but worth every pound. For the evenings there are many choices of cuisine, among them Rivoli and Fonda...wonderful tapas
If you like to cook, there are two supermarkets within easy access and numerous small speciality food outlets. Also many book and clothing stores...as well as banks, should you run out of funds with all this largesse at hand.
Altogether a great choice for 2/3 people to stay if they wish to visit this area and we look forward to a return visit in the future
