This large, turn-of-the-20th-century family summer home offers a quiet getaway with a private beach on Lake Michigan. From the bright, spacious front porch, you can see Lake Michigan and Little Traverse Bay, and stroll down a cleared 100-yard path through the shady woods to the private beach. This 3-acre property also has a large side yard that is perfect for lawn sports. 

MAIN FLOOR: The cottage atmosphere of this home is enhanced by a comfortable living room with many seating areas and an uncut-stone, wood-burning fireplace (also cable TV). The adjoining open dining room can accommodate 10-12 people at its table. The master suite is separated from the main living area, as are the 3/4 bath, 1/2 bath, and laundry room. The family room on this level doubles as a playroom and bedroom, with 2 twin beds and a lakefront picture window. The updated kitchen has 2 refrigerators, dishwasher, range, and the requisite appliances.

UPSTAIRS:  This level has 4 double bedrooms and another bedroom with 2 double beds and room for a crib or cot. Two baths are on this level, and each bedroom has its own separate washstand for privacy. The 2 front bedrooms have lake views.

From this peaceful and quiet getaway, you can drive 3 miles to Harbor Springs, a world class resort town, which offers fine dining, numerous golf courses, a public beach with lifeguard, tennis courts, picnic facilities, sailing, and other boating options. Also a short drive away: Petoskey, Bayview, Bar Harbor, and Charlevoix.

About The Owner

This cottage has been in our family for over 70 years. We live in Colorado, but we and the kids love to be on Lake Michigan. Each summer, we time-share this summer home with two siblings and their families, who also live in different states.

The Owner purchased this house in 1942
What makes this house unique

For privacy and quietude, this is the spot--in the middle of the woods, up on the bluff with lake views, and a private beach at the end of the path. For families large or small, this is a terrific getaway.
