We had a slopeside - which means South Wing - 1 bedroom condo on the first floor. We put on our skis at the door and went down to the South Ridge lifts. I never got into the car during our 3 day stay. If you stay on 2nd floor or in another wing, you may have to walk a little bit to the slope - but it is a short distance. The 1 bedroom is on the small side - we were 3 adults and I would not want to have more than 4 or 5 in that space. Units are individually owned and can vary in decor and bed set-up. We rented from an independent realtor (not the mountain) - Slopeside Realty in Bethel, ME. Their website shows each unit that they manage and you can have a conversation with the realty owner, Heidi, about which unit is best for you . The pool and common rooms were nice too. The best feature turned out to be the in-house restaurant, Gringo Harry's. It is billed as a Mexican Steak House. The food was great! Not your typical Mexican food - the chipotle rubbed flank steak and the ribs were outstanding. I am told that reservations are a must on busy weekends. On a Sunday night, we were the only customers. So, great slopeside location at a good price and a great restaurant that you don't need to have a coat to visit.
we have 2 teenagers , one is a snowboarder abd the other a skier, they love the location and ease of skiing back to condo for food or change of clothes and to hang out in the common room with other teens.
Its very family friendly, and comfortable. I love that it gets quiet around 9pm because everyone is up so early and out on the slopes for first tracks.
no driving! you park your car once and ski and walk everywhere so its fun for mom & dad too! no coordinating drop offs and pick ups, or carrying gear thru the parking lot. If you need a snack or another layer of clothes, ski back to the condo and grab it.
