Overview

Palo Alto House Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, hide a bed couch, sleeps 6

A single floor home with a large living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen, TV/family room, 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. A hideaway bed in the TV room and a large couch increases the sleeping opportunities. The outside living area includes a large patio, landscaping and an unheated pool. Off street parking, handicap accessibility, pets and children welcome. Amenities include; internet access, DVD player, TV, dish washer, washer and dryer, ice maker.

Menlo Park has an extremely temperate climate with few hot days so there is no need for air conditioning. Since the night s are always cool, we provide fans to move the air.

Vacation: Menlo Park was the destination for well-to-do San Francisco families who wished to establish summer residences in the country. Among the first to buy large tracts of land and build their mansions were the Athertons, Hopkinses, Floods, Millses, Donohoes and Feltons. Felton Gables was the summer estate of the Felton family, and now this small estate is a wonderful neighborhood. The weather in this mid-peninsula area is wonderful and encourages outside living. Imagine having your coffee outside in April while you read the paper, or having cocktails on the deck in the late afternoon. There are nearly always some kind of flower in bloom, in this wonderfully landscaped yard.

Centrally located, this home is within an easy train of San Francisco, a drive to the beach, or Stanford University.

Medical Treatments: This home is centrally located to Stanford Hospital and Medical Center, Sequoia Hospital, the peninsula Kaiser Permanente facilities, and both medical and mental health Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals. We will try to accommodate special situations resulting from medical needs. Both the shower and the bathtub have grab bars. The shower has a a seat and 3 inch lip for entry. The doors are wide enough for a wheelchair, and there is only one 2 inch step into the front door of the house and none out the back to the patio. All of the floors in the house are hard surface with a few area rugs. Nearby medical supply houses can deliver any necessary equipment.

There are no changeovers on a holiday. As an example, one group can't leave on the morning of the 4th of July and another group arrive that day. One group can leave OR one group can arrive, as there is no cleaning service on holidays.

A gem of a place

  • 5 of 5

I took my parents (91 and 84) to California for their first time. I wanted to find them a comfortable, one level home away from the city, but with easy access to it, as well. We couldn't have been more pleased. As soon as we walked through the door we felt like we were visiting a friend's place and felt right at home. The property is well appointed. The house is clean, spacious, and charming. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds are comfortable. And that garden! It was eye candy for this gardener. My parents enjoyed being able to walk in the neighborhood, and explore the region with me. I enjoyed being able to give them and myself a relaxing vacation. Thanks O'Sisters. I would definitely come back.

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It was ideally located for visiting our daughter at Stanford. It has a fully equipped kitchen and is in a quiet neighborhood. The property is every bit as good as the description and is well maintained.

Beautiful Home in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5

This home is truly a special place. We enjoyed our stay while visiting our son at Stanford. The location was perfect since he was very busy and had limited time to spend with us, we were a 5 minute ride to campus. The kitchen was just like home with may options for making home cooked meals. We also spent a lot of time sight seeing and it was an easy ride to the coast and mountain areas. Both bedrooms had private bathrooms and everything was very clean. The yard is beautiful with a pool, in late November we were able to sit by the pool and enjoy. We will definitely rent again hopefully next year, thank you to the O'Sisters for sharing their home!!

Relaxing Retreat in Lovely Area

  • 5 of 5

Our family (2 couples, 1 baby) stayed in this great home for 5 nights in July. It truly is set up as a home away from home, with many amenities not provided in your typical rental property (even a box of baby supplies!). We especially enjoyed the bright and sunny kitchen, with a great layout for multiple cooks and a huge window overlooking the beautiful patio area. We also enjoyed the TV room, and enjoyed good Wifi and TV service.

I was a bit concerned (based on the listing photos) that the bathrooms would be small and really outdated but we found them to be fine, with good lighting and plenty of storage areas for our personal toiletries.

The patio and pool area are just absolutely lovely and, being from an arid state, we so enjoyed all of the beautiful plants, trees and potted succulents. We also got a kick out of picking fresh rosemary and lemons to use when fixing a fish dinner.

The location is also great, with plenty of interesting restaurants in the area, and very close to parks and the Sunset Magazine gardens. We would be more than happy to stay in this homey property the next time we want to relax with our extended family.

This property is truly a "home" away from home!

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful and spacious home in a fantastic location. My son was attending a football camp at Stanford and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the morning and evening on the lovely patio. The pool was an added bonus in the evening. This property is charming and one can feel that many laughs were shared at this property. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Thanks for extending your lovely home.

Beautiful Home near Stanford

  • 5 of 5

We greatly enjoyed this home. The pictures don't really do it justice. The kitchen was better outfitted than any other home we have rented. The location was ideal for our daughter who is a grad student at Stanford. We enjoyed the backyard garden, and although we didn't go swimming, the pool was lovely.
