For those coming to the area for medical considerations, we are within easy reach of Stanford Medical Center, Sequoia Hospital or Kaiser Hospital.

Notes: This home is one level, and only a 3' step at the front entry and a ramp to the patio in the back. The floors are all hard surface with some area rugs that could be rolled up if necessary. The bathrooms have grab bars. There is an inflatable bed that can be put in the living room, TV room or on the patio, or for one extra person, the living room couch is very comfortable. The laundry room is a separate space with washer, dryer, iron and ironing board, pool towels and extra supplies. The kitchen is fully equipped including some spices, flour, sugar and some food stuffs.

Vacation: Menlo Park was the destination for well-to-do San Francisco families who wished to establish summer residences in the country. Among the first to buy large tracts of land and build their mansions were the Athertons, Hopkinses, Floods, Millses, Donohoes and Feltons. Felton Gables was the summer estate of the Felton family, and now this small estate is a wonderful neighborhood. The weather in this mid-peninsula area is wonderful and encourages outside living. Imagine having your coffee outside in April while you read the paper, or having cocktails on the deck in the late afternoon. There are nearly always some kind of flower in bloom, in this wonderfully landscaped yard. Centrally located, this home is within an easy train of San Francisco, a drive to the beach, or Stanford University.

Medical Treatments: This home is centrally located to Stanford Hospital and Medical Center, Sequoia Hospital, the peninsula Kaiser Permanente facilities, and both medical and mental health Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals. We will try to accommodate special situations resulting from medical needs. Both the shower and the bathtub have grab bars. The shower has a a seat and 3 inch lip for entry. The doors are wide enough for a wheelchair, and there is only one 2 inch step into the front door of the house and none out the back to the patio. All of the floors in the house are hard surface with a few area rugs. Nearby medical supply houses can deliver any necessary equipment.

We were thrilled with the house the minute we walked in. It was clean, well maintained and generously supplied with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The owner is very accessible and friendly.

We loved the pool and had our coffee in the sunshine every morning along with the mourning doves, juncos and hummingbirds.

It was a perfect place for the five of us to have our family reunion. We look forward to visiting the Bay area and staying in this home again in the near future.

Great house in a great location

This was our first experience renting a vacation home for our family visit instead of the usual hotel rooms... it was all we hoped it would be. The house is exactly as described, very spacious, fully equipped and located in a great neighborhood.
It made our stay very pleasant and comfortable. Since the weather still was nice and warm, we could fully enjoy the pool. If you're looking for
a great stay in the Bay area, we highly recommend this property. We very much felt at home and are looking forward to staying here again.

A Pleasant Surprise

This spacious house was a pleasant surprise from what we were expecting. It was clean, well-maintained, and a charming place with lots of character.

We didn't know it was in such a fabulous neighborhood. It was a lovely area, great for family walks. It was also very close to a great playground for the kids to run around in. The area was driving distance to all the popular areas.

The owner was great - the days that we were there, the weather was a LOT warmer than usual, and the owner even bought a big fan for us to use! Needless to say, we spent lots of time in the pool.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this property, and my family is looking forward to visiting this house again in the future!

FIRST TIME RENTAL!!!

We traveled across country from Cincinnati, Ohio in our Motorhome, planning on staying in an RV park in the San Francisco area. We broke down 100 miles from our destination, made reservations at the RV Park in their "Lodge" to spend a week there. After arriving at the "Lodge" and realizing it would not accommodate a family of 5 with a puppy, I quickly got on the computer and found this wonderful home. I contacted Cheri, she had us in the house within 2 hours!
When we arrived it was dark, we couldn't see a lot of the outside but were very impressed with the inside and all it had to offer our family. The home is very spacious and the layout is very nice. We had plenty of room to be together as a family and also have our own space. The bedrooms and kitchen are nice in size also. In the morning we were even more delighted to find all the beauty in the back yard. This home is a hidden treasure! With the flower gardens out back,
and the beautiful landscape in the front. Our week consisted of relaxing by the pool for a few hours in the mornings, picking from ether San Francisco, Napa, San Jose or Santa Cruz. This home is all within 25 minutes to an hour of all these locations. This was the perfect location for all we wanted to do and see in the area. Staying in this beautiful home made our vacation so much more enjoyable than it even would have been staying in our "own motorhome". We also enjoyed a drive up the coast from Santa Cruz. Almost forgot to mention how nice it was to have WIFI in the house and also the washer and dryer, what an added bonus this was for us! And being a "pet friendly" house was the icing on the cake. Our next trip to the San Francisco area, I will defiantly stay at this home again! Thank you so much Cheri for sharing your home with us! We will be back
