Relaxation, convenience, fond memories

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, 3-year-old grandson and I spent 5 days. We attended a family reunion in nearby Sunnyvale and were able to invite extended family to come for meals, visiting, and enjoying the pool several times.
The home and surroundings were all as described and more. Not only was everything spacious, clean, and well maintained, there were unexpected details that were perfect for a family with children -- set of plastic colorful plates, bowls, spoons, and cups in the kitchen cupboard; a "den" with a few kids' toys and games; bedrooms far enough from the "action" to make napping very workable. The kitchen was super well stocked - just like a fully functioning home and the patio was a great place to eat and/or sit and visit with coffee or cocktails.
Cheryl was accessible and helpful in getting the rental set up. When I wanted to adjust the length of our stay a couple of months before it, Cheryl made that arrangement smooth and easy.
Everything went so well with this vacation rental and we had such a good experience I wrote this note to Cheryl on the last morning:
This is a quiet moment while I sip coffee and wait for the "troops" to rouse.
My family has had a wonderful experience in your family's home. As my sisters and I prepared casual meals for our kids and grandkids to share in the patio, I couldn't help but feel the spirit of your family around us. You must have had so many happy times here with your parents, family, and friends. And your mom and dad seem so present in the many lovingly put together details around this home, and the gardens, of course.
While the pool is a centerpiece of enjoyment for the kids, I have found the thoughtfully arranged environment all around the house, patio, and gardens creates an aura of ease, harmony, and serenity. What a refreshing vacation!
