Elegant, huge Harlem, NYC mansion. Every conceivable amenity available including HD flat screen TV, elevator, garden (with dining and lounging furniture, gas grill), gorgeous rooms, full designer kitchen access (GE Monogram appliances, farmhouse sink, quartz counters, copper ceilings), museum-quality furniture and artwork, fully air-conditioned and heated. Each of 5 bedrooms has its own elegant private bath with sink, toilet and shower and/or soaking tub. Billiards room, media room with huge flat screen and full laundry room.

The home is a landmarked brownstone built in the late 1880's and gut-renovated to Architectural Digest standards in 2006-07. It is located in the landmarked Mt. Morris Park section of trendy Harlem, at the corner of Mount Morris Park West (a/k/a 5th Avenue) and West 123rd Street. Convenient to the 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 trains, 5th Avenue bus lines and easy ability to hail a cab anytime of the day or night. Safe, free on-street parking. The neighborhood is very safe and very pleasant and boasts numerous beautiful brownstones, churches, parks and restaurants. Renters have access to the entire home (5 floors including exclusive use of elevator, LR, DR, kitchen, billiards, media and laundry rooms, garden, 5 bedrooms, 5 full and 2 half-baths, sleeping up to 12 guests). Rentals are for the entire home and are for a minimum of 3 nights at $750.00

'VERY IMPORTANT NOTE FOR VISITORS: Our property is a single family home. As such it is NOT subject to the new New York law, signed by the Governor this summer, that prohibits the short-term rental of housing units. That law only applies to buildings, such as every apartment building in NYC, containing 3 or more 'dwelling units' (i.e., separate apartments). Our home is not covered by this law because it is a single family unit, and therefore our rentals are completely legal. You may therefore be assured that renting from us will not be in violation of any laws and that you are at no risk of being unable to occupy the premises because the authorities have taken legal action against the property owner.'

We love Harlem and it is so convenient to all the sites in New York. We are only two blocks to the express train to Times Square. It takes less than twenty minutes to get to Times Square. All tourist attractions are convenient and there is lots to do right here in the neighborhood. It is safe, historic and family oriented. The neighbors are wonderful. It is located in the heart of the Mount Morris Park historic district, very quiet and neighborly. People say hello to each other on the street, a unique feature for New York.

What makes this house unique

The bedrooms are very private, quiet and large. Church bells ring on the weekends, birds sing in the garden. The kitchen is state of the art. There is a piano. I offer complimentary coffee, artisanal teas and biscotti.

We are two blocks from the subway, 15 minutes to Times Square and close to museums, parks and the heart of Manhattan. Also convenient to airports.

There are five large beautiful bedrooms each with a full or queen size bed and private bath. Two of those bedrooms have an additional sleeping futon. The house is beautifully decorated with museum quality art deco antiques. The kitchen is very well appointed and the dining room table is grand and large with room for everyone.

My family of 8 had wonderful time during our recent trip to New York with this home being one of the highlights. Everything was first class and all advertising of property was accurate. We had more than enough living space and all the privacy you need. Everything we needed including stores, resturaunts, and transportaion was very close. Will definitly make this my place to stay with a group when I return to NY.

The Harlem Mansion fulfilled all of our expectations. We all had private sleeping accommodations throughout the 5 story structure. The elevator was a nice accommodation for those who chose to use it rather than ascending two flights of steps. Also, it was great for movement of luggage on check-in and check-out. The facility was amply supplied to meet all of our needs.
The mansion offered spacious rooms for sleeping and entertainment. We hosted a reception for 40 - 50 people all of whom were favorably impressed with the mansion.
The Harlem location was perfect for our activities during our 5 night stay.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
Owner's Response: Please be aware that this is not a party rental sight. there are extra fees associated with hosting events for non-residential guests and you must use our chef or reccommended caterers.

We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful house. Joyce was very helpful and very friendly during the reservation proces and during our stay. The house is beautiful and in a very good location. The subway is around the corner and brings you directly to the center of the city. We will certainly recommend this property to others.

Our group of 4 moms and 4 teenage daughters were thrilled by the house! The brownstone is everything it was advertised to be and more. Joyce was a fabulous host and gave us all kinds of tips and useful information that made our visit to Harlem and NYC. Extremely well equipped kitchen with lots of coffee, tea, etc. Many nooks and crannies to explore in the house with an array of interesting collections of this and that! We liked being part of a neighbourhood and took advantage of the many great restaurants most nights. There is very easy subway access to the rest of Manhatten. Loved it - will never stay in midtown again..

Fabulous for family reunion

Just returned from a wonderful stay in the mansion! We had 12 people, including 4 kids, and we had a wonderful time. The house was perfect for accommodating all of us and for allowing us to host Grandma's birthday party for additional friends and relatives. It was the perfect base of operations for a great weekend with activities throughout the city, including excursions to Brooklyn, the East Village, and the High Line, and Chinatown/Little Italy. Joyce's tips for shopping, etc. made it easy to stock up and be ready for our stay. Can't wait to come back!
