What a relaxing retreat!

We had a wonderful time in the cabin this weekend! We have rented various lake houses and/or chalet houses in the past, but never have we stayed in a place that was so well-equipped, with every kitchen item we could want (not just pots and pans and dishes, but also a food processor, blender, muffin tins, wire whisks, and even chip clips...the little things you always wish for when you are away from home but don't want to schlep all the way to a vacation house). While we were there this weekend, we saw a host of wildlife, including geese, chipmunks, a rabbit, and several deer – there was even a small nosy deer that came all the way up on the porch and was caught looking into the cabin through the glass door! (We think it was Rudolph, checking to see if we were being nice)! We saw so many TAME inhabitants also, including Lance (a Terrier mix), Arthur (a Bulldog), Buster (an old Red Dog), and Hobbs (a Husky mix), two Arabian horses, the owner's sweet mother Nancy, who lives on the property, and Aunt Linda, who lives around the corner)! It was very nice to be so close to Athens’ activities but be so remote and secluded at the same time. Very close by is Georgia's largest flea market and a great bike/walking trail, that leads right into downtown Athens. There is so much to do here. We had a lot of fun! We can't wait to come back!
