We recently spent the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend at the Hudson house and I simply cannot say enough good about our experience. The house was IDEAL! Colleen the owner is an absolute pleasure to work with and most attentive to every request, super responsive. The house is a charming Victorian lovingly updated, eclectically decorated. There is a certain warmth and comfortableness about the house that perfectly fit the holiday and was just right for the mix of guests which ranged from teenagers to older folks (me). There are two parlors and a very spacious dining room that was the perfect setting for our Thanksgiving feast. We were a bit nervous about whether the kitchen would be sufficient to prepare the feast (and there were foodies among us), but once again our expectations were more than exceeded. The kitchen is extraordinarily well stocked with basic (and some not so basic) provisions (olive oil, sugar, etc., etc.) and cooking wares sufficient for a gourmet. Many times we heard "I can't believe how well-stocked this kitchen is." The kitchen is also a good size - we had several cooks and observers too (nothing like hanging out in the kitchen) and it was fun and lovely. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with excellent linens (both bed and bath). As it turned out, at the time of our visit it was quite cold and Colleen had arranged to have the heat turned on ahead of time and it was warm and toasty the entire weekend. Finally there is the adorable town of Hudson with its many fine shops, bars and restaurants and all within easy walking distance from the house. Simply put, it was an awesome experience and I (and all of the guests) would enthusiastically recommend this house for a stay in Hudson or the surrounding area.
We had a wonderful stay for our girls weekend away. The house was a wonderful old victorian, decorated with both old and new furnishings. We found it very warm and inviting. Just a note to others looking to visit, the house is authentic, meaning -its old, but full of charm and character. The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. Downtown Hudson was very nice with antique and specialty shops as well as coffee houses and restaurants. Would definately visit again.
Four girlfriends and I met up in Hudson and had a lovely time staying at this home. Loved the layout and decor; clean and spacious for five guests. We were close enough to town that we spent one day and evening walking up and down Warren Street. We were also so happy with the kitchen amenities that we hit up the Saturday AM farmers market and cooked in one night. Would definitely recommend!
Had a great time at this house while attending Basilica Soundscape. Could not have had better interactions with host. Lots of space, hip decor, cute backyard, close to good food. Would stay again.
I reserved this townhouse for members of my family for my daughter's wedding over the Fourth of July weekend. Not only was this townhouse reasonably priced and conveniently located compared to other rentals in Hudson, but Colleen, the owner, was kind and accommodating, allowing me to see it at a minutes notice, arranging a super early check in for my guests, and not charging a cleaning fee. My guests had different responses to the house and I think that reflects what one expects. The townhouse reflects Hudson --it is old, historic, basic, charming, organic, and unique. My guests who did not like it did not appreciate Hudson. Those who did, know and love Hudson. All in all, I love my family, and I wish all had been happy with what I thought was a great find and house for all. That being said, the wedding was exquisite and my daughter beautiful. And, Colleen, was gracious to me throughout. I think the house is a terrific little find, and I would recommend this to all who appreciate the charm and history of Hudson.
clean, quiet, spacious, comfortable. Great location. met all my needs.I was staying with family and had an upstairs bedroom. very nice room. very comfortable bed. no complaints at all.
Guests can visit Rhinebeck, Hyde Park, Woodstock, Tanglewood and Albany, or make a day trip through the many small towns in the area. Hudson is a great base for travels to all that the Hudson Valley, Catskills and Berkshire Mountains have to offer. Just 2+ hours from NYC.
