My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and can not begin to tell you how amazing this apartment was! It literally has everything a tourist would need. The owner has maps, brochures, things to do, history of amsterdam, pretty much everything you could think of. View from the apartment is amazing! The owners were very helpful in their suggestions and extremely accomadating. We were on a 2 week trip across Europe and this was by far our favorite apartment. The apartment is within walking disatnce of pretty much everything in Amsterdam. We walked to the Rijk Museum, Van Gogh Museum, Rembrandt House, pretty much anywhere you wanted to go. Would highly recommend!
My wife and I stayed at the apartment for three nights at the end of our 3 week European trip. We were greeted upon our arrival and taken through everything there is to know about the apartment. We were also given maps and guide books for Amsterdam along with some handy advice on things to see.
The apartment is relatively spacious and such a relaxing place to come back to after sightseeing all day, it really felt like home! The kitchen was a great for breakfasts etc and there were even some drinks and condiments available for us to use. The apartment was very clean and in a great location. Would happily stay here again.
My daughter (20) and I rented this spacious apartment and were very pleased with the location (safe area), amenities, and communication with the owner. The owner was there to meet us upon our arrival and provided a get acquainted information sheet and area map to us with suggestions for local eateries/groceries/entertainment/etc. There were also several guidebooks available to us (Rick Steve's, Frommer's) that were extremely helpful and that we used to plan trips to Edam and Marken (easy and cheaper to take a bus to on your own - skip the guided tour!) and which also gave us the correct tram connections for various museums. The apartment was very spacious and we took advantage of the the kitchen (stove, small toaster oven, coffee maker were used daily for breakfast), washer/dryer, and printer that were available for our use. They also had some good jazz CDs we listened to! We slept well in the comfortable bed (had heavy draperies to keep out the daylight). We did need earplugs to sleep (as there is quite a bit of traffic noise.) Nice breezes and sunshine from the windows overlooking the canal! The metro stops just outside the apartment and we used this mode of transportation daily to zip us to our destinations. As there was no sofa or easy chairs to sit on (kitchen table/chairs and one comfy rocker), we used two cushions to sit on the nice hardwood floor and enjoy the sunshine and breeze with a glass of wine in the evenings from the open windows over the canal. Of particular note: owners helped us with information and calls to a local MD who could help my daughter with a rash she had developed prior to coming to Amsterdam. Thank you for going the extra mile!
We recently stayed in this beautiful apartment. It was clean, bright and spacious, and right on the Singel canal. Everything we needed was provided, including cereal, jam, butter, milk, juice for our arrival [thank you, it was much appreciated!]. The area was wonderful for exploring Amsterdam, we loved the Jordaan! Found a fabulous bar close by which we popped in to each evening. The owners left detailed lists of useful information, as well as maps and guide books. We would highly recommend this apartment. Thank you!
This flat is sparkling clean with a great bathroom and every comfort possible from slippers to breakfast fixings. The description and photos are very accurate but don't reflect the spaciousness of the flat -- it is very bright and airy. The proprietors are lovely, speak 4 languages and very helpful with tourist tips and recommendations for local restaurants and grocers.
After a full day of walking around, it was wonderful to relax in the flat gazing out onto the canal below. There is a direct bus from Schipol airport to the terminus, just a short walk from the flat. (4 euros) Anne Frank's House is a 15 minute walk away as are the wonderful Saturday morning markets in the Jordaan. Be sure to reserve tickets on line for Anne Frank House and museums in order to avoid the long line ups -- and try to reserve a table at Moeder's restaurant nearby for a great Dutch meal with good ambiance.
Highly recommended. This will be our pied à terre in Amsterdam for all future layovers!
The apartment is located in the Center, in the Jordaan area. It is ten minutes walk to the Anne Frank House, and a one minute walk to many tram and bus connections.
A bus will bring you from the airport to a bus station which is a seven- minutes walk from the Apartment.
There are three shopping streets near the apartment, and many restaurants and cafes.
