Our family spent five nights at this cottage. This was a wonderful find. It is the perfect vacation spot, away from it all yet so close to many things (Lake George is about 10 minutes away on a fairly busy road that is quite safe even at night). The cottage is very clean and the beds are comfortable. We had some great evenings on the enclosed porch. It was also wonderful to have breakfast there in the morning. The kitchen is very spacious and well stocked so you can save on the restaurant bill. There is a Weber barbecue, but we did not even use it.
The small sandy beach is a short walk away and has a lovely diving dock that my daughter (10 years old) greatly enjoyed. It is shared with other cottages in the area, but it is not crowded at all and very quiet.
There are so many activities to do beyond swimming at the beach: we tried the rodeo just around the corner, horseback riding, the Great Escape, and we spent a day at the races in Saratoga. We just did not have enough time to do all we wanted to do, and our daughter has already begged me to go back. The owners’ association also has some hiking trails, that looked nice, but we just did not have enough time.
The owners, Erin and Roger, are very friendly and patiently answered all of our enquiries very quickly. I highly recommend this place.
We had a great experience staying at this cottage- the place was clean, quaint, spacious and in a great location! Would definately come again. The only caveat was the lack of garbage pickup, having to travel with our trash bags was not fun, but overall the house was perfect.
My partner and I loved our time at this lovely cottage in the Adirondacks. We felt so at home, from relaxing on the porch drinking our morning coffee, to preparing a meal for some friends who were in the area one evening during our stay. This is a perfect get a way for a couple, family or both. We loved the coziness of the cottage, however it was plenty big enough. The setting is wonderful, within the forest, just a short walk away from a private lake.
Lake George is really close with lots of tourist stuff to do. Also Sacandaga Lake is also fairly close. We took a wonderful motorcycle ride around Sacandaga last fall during our stay and it was breathtaking. We can't wait to go back again this fall. Everything you need for a weekend or a week, the red house is so comfortable. It's a real bargain for a real Adirondack get away. I do recommend going out on Lake George on one of the big boats in the fall....it's just beautiful.
Located 10 minutes from Lake George Village and 5 minutes from the Village of Lake Luzerne and public beach on Lake Luzerne.
