The Right Neighborhood, Brilliant Space

The on-line description is very accurate, but the beauty of the living quarters (when lived-in) is even better. The decor is a wonderful combinations of the modern and traditional, with an extravagance of space, and main hallway bathed in light. The ceilings are high enough for the designers to have built mid-level platforms above the kitchen (with a small electric piano -- which I loved -- and two sofas that double as beds) and above the entrance to the en suite bathroom in the master bedroom (which leads up to laundry area that we used constantly, and made us feel entirely at home). It is hard to describe the perfection of the location. To those who know NY, Recoleta is like the Village -- narrow streets at angles with trees; fascinating little shops (seafood, grocers, imported wines); unusual restaurants; the must-see cemetary; bookstores -- everything just a few blocks away. If you have friends or family in B.A., have them over for dinner and they'll be impressed (mine were). There are interesting and well thought-out design elements everywhere in the apartment, and the manager (Martin) was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and (importantly) tuned in. My stay in B.A. was a dream, but one of the reasons was this apartment, which is worth the money. Maybe there should be better cooking utensils and pots and pans -- they are there, of course, and of good quality, but we cook a lot, and wanted more. But apart from this small room for improvement, the sound system, tv, iron, spacious closet space, comfortable beds, tall door/windows were everything you'd want. We found the phone set-up excellent too, and if you rely on the internet as we do, it worked without a hitch during our stay. Do yourself a favor.
