We just stayed in this cottage for one week. The cottage is not 2 bedrooms, but one open plan room including living and sleeping quarters, not as advertised above. When we brought that up with the owner he told us that the separate building not attached to the main house was the second bedroom, not ideal for a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 7! When we said that's not what we were expecting, he said we 'never asked'! As you see above, the listing is quite firmly a cottage consisting of 2 bedrooms! The first two nights we were overrun with mice, and while the owner did assist us with providing extra sensors to deter the mice, he told us we were 'too picky' and should expect in maine that all cottages come with mice! When the toilet wouldn't flush (there is only one toilet in the cottage, and no bath, only a shower) the owner was very annoyed to have to come out again to fix that problem. When we pointed out the dishes were all dirty (every one had to be rewashed before we used them) and the mattress covers were covered with insect droppings and carcasses, along with the dirty windows, mice droppings on the kitchen counter, cobwebs, etc., the owner wasn't 'interested in that', even though we paid a lot of money for the week and had it booked since March. Having come all the way from the Uk this was a real shame. The location was great, shame the dock was half submerged and the owner didn't want to fix it while we were there (we said yes, please do!) He didn't think it marred our enjoyment of the place!
