'Sound of the Whale' is a new 2008 cedar home in quiet and peaceful Milolii - where the sun meets the sea. Enjoy the sweeping 180 degree view of the ocean, where whales migrate November through May. Hear the song of the humpback whales echo through the Milolii valley at night. Feed canaries, cardinals, doves, partridges, etc. from the lanais. The home is decorated Hawaiiana throughout, featuring tropical wallpapers, teak and bamboo, granite and tile, quality appliances, and huge covered lanais for outdoor living. This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home will comfortably accommodate 6 people, with handicap accessibility on the lower floor. We have recently added a swimming pool. It is private from the street, but with sweeping ocean views. Visit a live volcano, walk to a secluded black sand beach, enjoy spectacular snorkeling, whale watching, or a private fishing trip. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets and total relaxation in peaceful Milolii. Come stay at 'The Sound of the Whale.

Milolii is located on the southwest coast of the Big Island. There is a natural land boat launch at Milolii and fishing is the traditional way of life. Honomolino Beach Park is an easy walk and has both black and white sand beaches. It is a wonderful place for snorkeling, diving, hiking, and exploring. See the turtles at Punaluu, visit the ruins at City of Refuge, swim and kayak at Captain Cook. Nearby is Hookena Beach park with restrooms and showers.We are centrally located between the big resorts to the north and Volcanoes Natl Park to the southeast. There are nice grocery stores and restaurants in both Kealakekua and Ocean View and Naalehu has a lovely bakery and restaurants.
