Why Clay Fisher chose Ono Island Orange Beach

My parents bought the land back in the late 1960's when ONO Island was a deserted island. Fisher’s Folly was one of the first of the five homes build on the island in 1976. Boy have things changed, back then you had to buy your groceries 45 minutes away, drive 30 minutes for diner. Ono Island was, as it is today, a little piece of paradise. Today as back then Ono Island, is a private island, only today, the island has private access, with 24 hour security guards.

My house is located about 1 mile east of the Ono bridge, the address is 29174 Ono Blvd. If you are familiar with Ono Island it is a private gated island with 24x7x365 guarded access. Most of the homes on the island are multi-million homes with resident occupying their homes year round at around 75%.

• My guests now have access to the Ono Islands Club. The Ono Islands Club is limited to only 250 members, the club has a clubhouse, an Olympic sized swimming pool, and tennis courts.

• Fisher’s Folly has wireless broadband internet access.

• The dock at Fisher’s Folly will accommodate boats with a draft up of approximately 4 feet. (this is dependent on shifts in sandbars)

• The dock is on Old River, which is about a minute to either Gulf of Mexico or Perdido Bay.

• This island has a paved walking/ jogging trail, which runs parallel to most of the roadways. The roadways cover well over 15+ miles on the island.

• I do allow pups with a $200 non-refundable pet deposit

I rented this home 7/17-21, 2011. We were disappointed, and embarassed/worried when our family (staying in a nearby condo) came to visit. House was dirty, in disrepair and dangerous. Spent a whole day awaiting the real estate agency's cleaning crew (finally came and did the best they could in an hour or so) and repairmen--who never came!! Porch screen door is falling off; hangs on 1 of 3 hinges. Sliding door screen in eating area was hanging half off of door (agency fixed by ripping off). There are dangerous nails sticking way up all over pier/patios. An electrical cord to the pier has been cut so evening fishing with our grandkids was impossible. Light bulbs were out all over. Only half of bulb receptacles in dining area light and medicine cabinet work. Rugs were filthy with big food particles, dirt, dog hair, and pet stains. Agency saw, and sent sent a carpet cleaner. I wasted yet more time--and rugs were wet/nasty forever (steam cleaned directly on top of bamboo floor). Large pet stains in living room rug can not be removed. Ground level laundry is full of filth and what looks like rat droppings. Home is not pet friendly; there is NO grass and nowhere a pet can go without getting large burrs all over them. We'll go back to a gorgeous condo next year--and leave our small dog in Dallas.
Owner's Response: Wow, I am so sorry of this issues you had with my home. This is the first complaint, I have received about my home. The reviews and my experience have received have all been outstanding. Yes, their is no grass in they yard as it has been my intent to keep my lot natural as the island was when we bought the lot back in 1970. It is true my neighbors do have grass, but that is the way I envision beach property. I will be sure to make a note that there is no Grass on my lot. As well I will forward your complaint to my rental management company, as this type of experience is unacceptable. Once again I am sorry you had a bad experience during you stay. If you like please contact me so we discuss making this right.

Very nice condo

The house and property were wonderful. The only complaints that I had for the place was there was no water or power on the pier (which makes for a messy fish cleaning station). Also the water faucets downstairs were locked, and those keys were not included with the keys at check in. The rest of the accomodations were perfect!
