This spectacular vacation compound on Lake Travis is ideal for groups of families, friends or business associates. The compound consists of two adjacent properties, Moriah and Farr Side, which have houses approximately 50 yards apart.

The first property, Moriah, offers a huge historic timber-frame building for central living, dining and a gourmet kitchen designed for multiple cooks while two authentic 1850's log cabins provide four private bedrooms. Each of the 3 historic buildings which make up Moriah has an expansive porch with a lake view.

Moriah has been meticulously restored into a private retreat in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Moriah has been featured in the Austin American Statesman, Country Home Magazine and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram

The 2nd property, Farr Side, consists of 2 large buildings. The main building has 3 bedrooms, a sleeping loft, 2 full bathrooms, a living area, large kitchen and sleeps 12. A huge, inviting porch offers a view of the lake. The 2nd building consists of 2 very large bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a massive game room complete with a pool table, game table, sitting area with satellite television and ping pong table on the porch.

Both Moriah and Farr Side have a private dock and stunning views of the lake, combined they have 500 feet of private waterfront on Lake Travis. A gentle slope leads to the water, only 240 feet from the houses.

Together, the two properties sit on seven secluded acres in the Texas Hill Country on Lake Travis located only eight miles from Marble Falls.

About Nancy Anderson

We grew up in a family of seven children in Austin. Although only four of us still live in Austin, we find that central Texas is still the gathering spot for us and our young adult children.

Why Nancy Anderson chose Marble Falls

Prior to the year 2000, we searched annually for a location that would allow our large family to gather and enjoy meals and playing as a group. After finding each new venue lacking in one way or another, we bought two adjacent properties in 2000 and proceeded to create the ideal gathering place for our large (25+ people) family.

What makes this estate unique

Moriah and Farr Side offer several unique advantages for large groups. Most of the bedrooms are removed from the living areas so that people can keep different hours without the people who are sleep being disturbed by people who are socializing. The person who starts his day at 6:00 am doesn't wake anyone else and the people who stay up until the wee hours likewise dont disturb everyone else. By providing five separate buildings, there is room for people to break into smaller groups to pursue different activities or to get away from the activity for some quiet time. The living area is large enough to accommodate everyone. Our family typically all eats at two large tables and then gather for a game of volleyball or charades. The buildings were designed with large groups in mind. The kitchen is designed for multiple cooks and for people passing through without interrupting meal preparation. The kitchen includes two sinks, two dishwashers and two refrigerators.

This is a beautiful setting. Interesting historic buildings with fun details everywhere. Mostly it is a fabulous place for our extended family - big dining room table, open kitchen, plenty of rocking chairs on the porch and activities for the younger generation.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
