Ideal location : 3 blocks to south Congress, minutes to downtown, Long Center and Theaters, live music venues, 6th Street, Town Lake Hike and Bike, best restaurants, UT, museums, Convention Center and special events (SXSW, ACL)...close to everything! Wonderful Location and Home

We stayed at this house for a week during a Production Camp at UT with 4 ladies. The location is in a wonderful area with a straight shot down 1st Street to downtown. SOCO has many wonderful restaraunts and shops on Congress for lunch and dinner. The beds, linens, and towels were the best quality and we each had our own large bathroom for privacy. This house is brand new and is decorated like a page out of the Veranda magazine. The flowers on the dining room table and in the kitchen upon arrival made us feel at home. The kitchen has brand new top of the line appliances. The glassware, pottery, and utensils make you want to cook at home. The neighbors are friendly and helpful! The back porch has ceiling fans so that you can sit outside and visit after dinner. I will definitely try to stay in this home on my next trip back to Austin!

Terrific house in really fun Austin neighborhood with great restaurants and funky stores. Owners Priscilla and Ivan helpful and hospitable, making us feel more like friends than paying guests. Family staying in hotels were jealous they didn't make a similar choice.

Simply awesome house.

We stayed here for a week while attending a conference and cannot say enough nice things about this house. The house itself is amazing. The craftsmanship and design is oustanding. The layout provides enough space for everyone on their own, and there are abundant seating areas for breaking off into small groups (in our case for work teams, but could easily be kids/grownups, guys/girls, whatever). The kitchen is the kind I want in my own house. And you can't beat the location. Close to everything, including great dining and shops and the more eclectic side of Austin. You feel at home here and Ivan and Priscilla go out of their way to accommodate. Highly, highly recommend the Marlin.

One of the finest rental properties in Austin!

What a wonderful rental property. The Marlin House is absolutely beautiful! The home is elegantly decorated with an eclectic mix of furnishings. The two master bedrooms are fantastic, especially the third floor loft with its wall of windows overlooking downtown. The bedding is very comfortable, the bathrooms are fantastic with clawfoot tubs and incredibly soft towels. The gourmet kitchen is stocked with great dishes, glassware, and everything else you would need to prepare and enjoy a homecooked meal. WiFi and washer and dryer are also available. The great patio and lawn in the back yard provide a peaceful retreat, and a garage is available for secure parking. The location is also excellent, a short walk to both the funky South Congress area, Town Lake, and Zilker Park, and downtown just a little over a mile away. The owners are also lovely, very accomodating and willing to go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay in Austin. In all, this has to be one of the finest rental properties in Austin.
