This Is Paradise

This is absolutely the loveliest place I've ever been. From the moment we found it, we loved it. It's small, intimate, and quiet, the locals are quite reserved, but very friendly and justifiably proud of their beautiful island. Edith and Franko are the perfect hosts, always helpful and amazingly generous. They keep the apartments spotless. We have recommended it to family and friends, and they've all loved it too. In fact I don't really want to write this review because I don't want to risk not being able to make a booking...
As for facilities, well, If you want miles of golden sand, pedalos, obsequious service, 'childrens' areas', para-gliding and the rest of the Benidorm international holiday hell, forget it. It's the perfect place for hiring a little boat or a canoe and exploring the coves, inlets and beaches, looking over little islets in the blue sea, hoping for a dolphin-sighting, or going for long walks with Turneresque views over huge Adriatic distances, or just lying on the beach, swimming in the clear, clean sea. It's small enough for a young family not to worry about the children wandering off, and it's varied enough to lose yourself for a while. Restaurants all serve local sea-food, or fabulous pizzas, and anything you want really, and there are good ones in Lumbarda, but the very best thing to do if you stay at Edith's is just go to her cafe, the Galeb, and have whatever she recommends! It's all local, and mostly Franko has caught, grown or harvested whatever she cooks or pours for you. You could just go from beach to cafe to beach for days. Sometimes that's what we do. Actually, just writing this out makes me think why don't we pack our bags and just go...
