FABULOUS LOCATION...BREATHTAKING SUNSETS!!

  • 5 of 5
Just closed out our 3rd year here, and as in the past, it has exceeded our expectations. As a family with little ones (3&6), there is plenty to keep us busy.
The beach is private and clean and offers many treasures to be found. I'm a sea glass hunter and the kids thoroughly enjoy finding periwinkles, crabs and seashells. The cove provides a nice place for the kids to play with no worry of big waves or an undertow. My husband is a big fan of 'the rock' which provides exceptional fishing!!..(our daughter caught one so big it broke her fishing pole!)
The house is charming and quite comfortable with all of the amenities of 'home' and the back deck is a prime place for viewing some of the most amazing sunsets we've ever seen!!
This is a perfect spot for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation and we can't wait to go back next year!!
Thank you Dick & Judy for sharing your slice of 'heaven' with us :)

BEST VACATION IN A LONG LONG TIME!!

  • 5 of 5
This is a wonderful location and wonderful property. I usually don't write reviews but made an exception for this place. It was the most relaxing and beautiful setting I have vacationed in in a very long time. Having a house made a big difference for me. I would stay in this house all summer if I could. Dealing with the owner, Judy was especially rewarding as she was personable, flexible and very nice to do business with. I hope to be staying again next year. Thanks Judy!!

The views were breathtakingly beautiful, glorious sunsets every night!! Amazing!!

AMAZING

  • 5 of 5
We just got back from staying here. It was amazing! The sunsets were gorgeous, the neighbors were nice and it was the perfect getaway for me, my husband and my two sons (2yrs and 1 yr). We couldnt have asked for a more peaceful vacation. We definitely plan on renting this property again! As for the cottage itself, I found it to be typical of any Cape Cod cottage I have rented. Having the washer and dryer was perfect with the little ones. The outside shower came in very handy as well. It isnt in the middle of the hustle and bustle which was a nice change for us, but don't be alarmed, there are great places to eat and get ice cream only minutes away. I would definitley reccomend breakfast at the Brew House, Lunch/Dinner at the Lobster Trap and Ice cream as The Whistle Stop!

PERFECT, IF YOU LIKE RELAXING, QUIET & BEAUTIFUL

Perfect, if you like relaxing, quiet & beautiful
  • 5 of 5
Our vacation was terrific and Judith was a pleasure to work with. She was very accomodating and the little gift she left for us was very nice touch.

The views are beautiful from the deck, the neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are friendly. There are no crowds as it's in a residential neighborhood and you have a choice of a couple of beaches up and down from the house or just hang out right in front.

The fishing is fun, I caught something every day. Bluefish, scup and a black bass right off the rocks out front. Nothing real big but if you try harder at low tide off the big rock you could have a lot of fun with the medium sized blues.

To be honest, the house could use a little updating and the kitchen, with new appliances, is crowded but above average for most rentals.

Other than that it really was relaxing. Huge yard for the kids, convenient for parking the kayaks, near trails for bike riding and the streets are quiet. I hooked up with a neigbor who took me clamming on the beach out front and had some awesome steamed and stuffed quahogs.

Good times and great memories.

Owner's Response: Thank you John, for your thoughtful and detailed review. Your kindly hint to upgrade the furnishings was taken and we bought new living room furniture, painted the interior including the kitchen cabinetry, installed all new windows and planted new landscaping.

We, too, love the location overlooking the water and watching the beautiful sunsets, and are happy that you and others can enjoy it.

Thanks again John, for taking the time to write the review, and you are always welcome back to vacation in our home.

All the best,
Judy

Overlooking Buzzards Bay, our house is located on Beacon Point beach, a wonderful place for children as the water in the bay is calm and warmer than the ocean. The Bourne bridge is only ten minutes away, cutting down driving time to and from the Cape. The 'Upper Cape' where Pocasset and our house are located offers an array of summer fun for the entire family. Sandwich, at the north end of the seven mile Cape Cod canal is a charming and historic old town overlooking a pretty flower-lined mill pond. Interesting points to visit are the Hoxie House which is the oldest house on the Cape, Sandwich Glass Museum and Dexter Grist Mill which still mills corn. To the south is Falmouth, with excellent restaurants, shopping, theater, movie houses and cultural opportunities. Nearby is Wood's Hole, a pretty harbor town with restaurants, an aquarium ideal for children including a touch tank, and other points of interest. There's a lot to do and see within easy reach of our house in Pocasset

Other Activities: Buzzards Sailing club offers sailing classes for children by the week, 1 mile away. Go to BuzzardsSailing.org. for more information.
