Photos and Description of the Flagstaff vacation cabin rental 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4-6

Built in 1939 by missionaries, this one of a kind cabin was completely renovated in 2009 including the modernization of the Kitchen and Bathroom. It is located on a one acre lot that is private, quiet, wooded, mostly fenced(but for the width of the driveway) and backs undeveloped woods. Rock climbing opportunities exist within 15 minutes walking on Mt. Elden as well as at half a dozen or so other areas within 20-30 miles of town. Flagstaff Urban Trail System as well as Forest Service trails are quite close. In the house one finds a small library of reference materials(maps and books) for anyone touring the area. Tools for working on bicycles, extra bikes for kids under ten years old; stack of Golf Discs; rope swing. Homeowner lives nearby and is glad to welcome visitors and steer them in the right direction with seasonal tips.

Private one acre wooded hideaway at the foot of Mt. Elden in a place rock climbers call the Bird Sanctuary, where many migratory birds pass through each year. Enjoy the out of doors playing disc golf, biking or hiking on the Flagstaff Urban Trail System. Mountain bikers find hundreds of miles of single track trails, Road bikers encounter fine routes in all directions. Rock climbers discover Basalt, Dacite, Limestone and Sandstone nearby. Read and relax indoors or out. Explore the Coconino National Forest for vanishing remnants of the historic logging railroads from the late century. Visit our neighbors at the Mountain Meadow Farm and get great ideas from farmer Chuck. Go shopping at the nearby Flagstaff Mall or Safeway, or head downtown for some real kitsch. The Route 66 bus is a ten minute walk. Local attractions include Grand Canyon, Wupatki, Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, Museum of Northern AZ, Montezuma Castle, Sedona, Tuzigoot and NAU.

The cabin was exactly as described. Neat, clean, modernized and better than expected. The owner was helpful with tips and directions. Our three day stay was relaxing and we enjoyed the tranquility. The cabin is very close to shopping and restaurants although it feels very remote when you are inside. The area is very dark (no city lights) a flashlight couldn't hurt if your explore at night. The cabin is about 70 miles (no traffic) from the Grand Canyon south rim. There are maps and information about the area provided. I would revisit or recommend this rental. Thanks again.

Great Mountain Getaway

The best of both worlds. This property has the charm of a thoughtfully restored mountain cabin with it's soft glowing woodwork, layered bedding and beautiful surroundings and yet more than met our needs for a clean modern bathroom and efficient and well appointed kitchen. Easy and quick access to all that Flagstaff has to offer. Owners were very accomodating and responsive. A great value for the market. Try Salsa Brava Mexican restaurant - it was so good , we had to go back for more.

Great Escape Place!

My wife, daughter, and I spent 3 wonderful days and nights at this cabin. It was spotless and had all the conveniences of home. Beautiful location so that we could hike right out of the door and onto the mountain. In the middle of the bird sanctuary. Close to town for restaurants and shopping. Loved it enough that we want to go back for 2 weeks next year. Owners could not have been more helpful and friendly. Great to get away from the heat of southern Arizona.
