Are you coming to take a holiday or an extended business trip in New York City? Williamsburg is the new NYC Vacation spot for the globetrotting young and hip. The coolest bars, restaurants, galleries and shopping in NYC in a smart safe convenient neighborhood.
Just a 4 minute walk to famous Bedford Avenue L subway station (one stop from Manhattan's East Village). Fully furnished 1800's landmark brownstone with 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths (one is a Jacuzzi), Gorgeous Wood Floors, Full Gourmet Kitchen and a Huge Brooklyn Backyard on a quiet and safe historic street in the heart of it all. You are literally 2 minutes from everything in the neighborhood, and you are closer to downtown Manhattan (Soho, Village, Tribeca), than if you stayed in a hotel in Midtown Manhattan, no kidding. 10 minutes to Manhattan on the subway including your walk. The subway ride is actually just 2 and half minutes.
Great Heat, Quiet Air Conditioning, Cable, Wi-Fi, Laundry, well-equipped kitchen, in other words, a VERY comfortable, clean and well-maintained house.
Things To Remember:
1. Absolutely No Smoking, No Drugs, No Wild or Loud Parties.
2. Enjoy the most happening NYC neighborhood at a great price.
This was an ideal rental for a family grouping that included two young people, two middle aged people and an elderly person (who could manage the stairs). Lots of privacy on the upper floors, and wonderful hang out space on the first floor. The kitchen was well stocked with dishware and pots and pans, knives, various spices, kitchen tools, etc. We cooked some meals in, and also brought in take-out and had big family meals. Comfortable beds, comfortable furniture, comfortable ambiance....just comfortable overall. Great location too. Daniel (the host) was responsive and accommodating, informative and super nice. The only drawback was the construction site at the back end of the property. They started work at about 7:15 am every day (banging and sawing), so if you need to sleep in, this probably won't be for you. The work is slated to be finished by late fall 2015 though.
We would definitely rent this property again!
I stayed at Daniel's house with my parents, husband, two children (4.5 and 6 months) and our baby sitter. We just loved it. It was a beautiful house with a friendly vibe and an open-plan kitchen/living room that was perfect for hanging out as a family. This was a work trip for me and I loved getting on the subway at Union Square knowing that I'd be walking in the door within the next 15 minutes. The kitchen is well equipped for those who like to cook, and there is a very good, friendly supermarket within two blocks. (It's open from 6am-12am every day, too, which made me miss living in New York!)
Three generations of our family stayed here for a week in June (6 people). Location is great, there is so much to do in Williamsburg (not to mention the amazing food!), and easy easy trip into Manhattan. The home is perfect, very well equipped, kitchen is awesome. The cat was great, friendly when we wanted (well, when the kids wanted) but mostly stayed away. The house is beautifully decorated (which was our only problem since we had two 2-year-olds with us - we were having to watch them VERY closely since there are many little breakable things throughout the house). You can't say it's a negative because the house isn't child proofed and it wouldn't even stop me from coming back, but just a warning to parents with inquisitive toddlers, you will have your work ahead of you with the nice furnishings/decorations and many many stairs. If I am ever going to back to New York City I will definitely check out Daniel's availability for this property, it is WONDERFUL!
We had an amazing week! We were two families with three kids (3 years and 5). Perfect with big rooms, and a wonderful backyard. The area is perfect with great bars and restaurants just a short walk away. And greats shops too. I want to live in this house. Please, can I?
We had a wonderful stay at Daniel's place last week. It was beautifully decorated, clean, very roomy, open and airy. The location is incredibly central, within walking distance to tons of amazing restaurants, close to the subway and within walking distance of the Williamsburg bridge where you can walk across and get beautiful views of the city. Daniel gave us lots of tips to great eateries and the garden area was lovely to relax and catch up with friends. I spent a rediculous amount of time researching places before we found this place. It is by far the largest, nicest and most centrally located place I found and for what I think is a great price. The place is great if you want to spend time with friends but also have your own privacy as well. There were 2 1/2 bathrooms, a rarity in the city for the price range I was looking at. The wifi was very helpful to have as well and we were able to print off last minute concert tickets and boarding passes to our friends flights.. The cat there is very friendly but keeps to himself, he did however meow a lot first thing in the morning...I think if you are used to pets this is something you would be used to as a matter of course. We drove from Ohio and amazingly we were able to street park right in front of the place for 5 days, which was very cool.
We spent a wonderful week in this extremely beautiful house and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else if we came to N.Y. again. It's a very quiet street and yet there is a lot of things going on nearby and you'll find everything you need.
Definitely the best holiday home we've ever stayed at!
