We were amazed by everything about Tulemar from the time we inquired about staying there. Julien was incredibly prompt to respond to any questions and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We arrived at Tulemar just after noon, hoping to check our luggage and head to the beach until our room was available, only to be told our room was already clean and ready for us. We headed to the bungalow and we were both blown away by the incredible view of the ocean, which Julien mentioned was one of the best from the bungalows.
Once we were settled in, we headed straight to the beach. While the walk down was a bit of an adventure (flip flops and the hills don't mix very well!), the availability of the shuttle solved that problem for the rest of our stay. The drinks and food on the beach were perfect and let us spend more time in the sun instead of heaving to head back to our room to eat or drink. We also met Michael, one of the Tulemar employees. My boyfriend asked Michael about fishing in the area and, after some conversation, Michael offered to take us out fishing with him during our stay (more on that to follow!). After a few hours on the beach, we headed back to our room and got ready for dinner. Julien called promptly just before dinner time to ask if we needed him to make reservations for us anywhere. We asked for a restaurant with live music and were told to head to the Cantina. We had a rental car so getting to the restaurant was simple, although the place was pretty quiet for 7 p.m. with live music. At 5 a.m. the next morning, we were woken up by a monkey outside our bedroom window. We watched him play in the treetops for a bit and then headed to The Falls for breakfast, which is about 100 meters to the right of the Tulemar entrance. We returned to Tulemar and headed to the beach. The beach, by the way, is amazing. While you are there with other guests, it feels completely private. There is enough room to be away from the other guests while still having access to all of the amenities including towels, kayaks, food/drinks, etc. The water is calm and the beauty of the beach outweighs the few rocks we stepped on headed into the ocean. We took a kayak out to the area where the catamarans had stopped to snorkel. The snorkeling wasn't all that impressive with cloudy waters, but it wa
