House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

The grounds have been designed to be slightly wild, with cypress papyrus, tall grasses, and lots of bamboo that provides privacy and quiet. Conveniently located at the entrance to Coronado Island, once you are on the property the focus is the house and back yard area. The house is all on one level with the exception of the 'treehouse bedroom' which was originally added as an artist's studio. It is accessed from the outside, by a spiral staircase, and is a world on its own. With windows or doors on all four sides, it is a lovely place to sleep - breezy on a summer's night, or with the gas stove warming the cozy space in winter. The bed is queen size with 100% cotton linens; down pillows and comforter. The cherry furnishings include shelves and desk, sitting area, and a large dresser. In-room refrigerator. For a small party (1-2 guests) this unit can be rented for the lower rate. Treehouse guests have full access to the kitchen, barbecue grill, hot tub, and other amenities of the house and grounds.

The two additional bedrooms each have queen size beds with 100% cotton linens; down pillows and comforters. The Moroccan bedroom features a 100 year old teak bed from a royal household in India, a massive antique Spanish chest, a separate sitting area with leather loveseat and chairs and a private bathroom. The cozy and secluded Bamboo bedroom is off the main hallway, across from the third bathroom/powder room.

The main living spaces include the living room - with three loveseats; dining room (table seats 8); music room/library - with baby grand piano; Turtle bar; and family room with pool table and movie library.

The yard is very private thanks to the high growing bamboo. Comfortable seating under the palapa, teak dining table on the deck, wood-burning fire pit, large hot tub, lounge chairs and umbrella, and a bamboo bar with bar stools rounds out the multi-level spaces of the private grounds.

Beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, beach towels are available for guest use. Local boating can be arranged. Bicycles can be rented up town.

Please note: Rental of the house includes the whole property, including the Treehouse. Rental of the Treehouse includes sharing the house with me, if I am in town.

Why The Owner chose Coronado

I fell in love with Coronado the first time I visited and had to come back during the summer to stay a month with my boys. That was almost 15 years ago. I returned many times and eventually bought my house, in 2000. This is the most beautiful place and greatest family environment that I have ever resided in.

What makes this house unique

Walk to San Diego Bay beach, Tidelands Park, the Ferry Landing and many restaurants. Perfect location for early morning walks around the island and along the beach - bring a cup of freshly-brewed coffee and walk the dog. Bus stop across the street. Sunday afternoon concerts in Spreckel's park - walk, unless you want to bring a big picnic! Drive across the bridge to Balboa Park, the Zoo and numerous museums. Across the bay is the Maritime Museum, Seaport Village, the Fish Market restaurant, Little Italy, and the Gaslamp District - drive or take the ferry. Ask about visiting the yacht club or private sailing tours of San Diego Bay - one to four people.

I read the reviews before I requested the rental, and the positive reviews were accurate! We stayed at this beautiful home for a three night getaway, as a belated family Christmas present. What a treat-we felt very welcomed and comfortable. This home was walking distance to Coronado Village and Ferry Landing. The lush tropical environment in the back yard, hot tub, fire pit, and pool table were a hit. Email communications with the owner were prompt. She was very accommodating to my forgetfulness in completing the final payment for the rental. Thanks Pamela! We will definitely be back!

No wonder she gets 5 stars from everyone that stays there. It is truly a unique vacation rental (even though we were on business). Great ambiance and amenities. I will definitely stay there next time I am down that way. Great location too.

The house embodied the owner's talents and travels, decorated with lovely animal motifs from her life. Glorious selection of books on every subject and wonderful selection of DVDs. The private lanai/hot tub was a treat. I felt totally at home in the chef's kitchen equipped with an AGA stove (my 1st and fascinating experience), the best of implements and knives.
It's proximity to everything on the island was wonderful, especially the park two blocks away for our dogs to run.
The only draw back is the main traffic thoroughfare so bring your earplugs!

Beautiful Oasis. I will be back again and again.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! It has become an Oasis for me when doing business in San Diego (nice change from crowded over-priced hotels). It is also terrific to have space for my family to join me occasionally as well.

The house is so beautiful; the pictures do not do it justice. Everywhere you turn is something interesting to enjoy. The indoor / outdoor space flows so nicely which is a huge bonus with the fantastic weather of the area. The home owner has the rare talent of being scarce but when you need her, there she is!

I love that I do not have to get in a car in order to eat out, go to the beach, or do some shopping. The house is well stocked for a vacation rental. The décor / art is beautiful. It is nice enough to feel pampered but casual enough that I feel comfortable and relaxed.

My 3 year old grand daughter keeps asking me when we can stay in the Tree House again! Soon very soon… Although looking at the calendar, the house stays booked pretty far ahead!

Fantastic Home Away From Home.......

My family has been coming to Coronado for 20 yrs, have stayed in various homes. We thought being close to the beach was a must, but after staying here, have decided that this home is worth the trade off. It is incredible! I fell in love with the AGA stove! Has all the comforts (more like luxuries!) of home and 10 minutes to the beach! We spent more family time together here than ever before and hope to go back again soon. The owner is genuine & accomodating.
