If you are looking for a great vacation home in a peaceful location, this may be it!

It is located in a quiet rural residential area, with easy access to all sorts of fun.

Set at the end of a cul-de-sac on a short, dirt road, the home is fairly nondescript from the front. It was manufactured in 1996 and has a block foundation, vaulted ceilings, a large living room with 2 comfy couches and an overstuffed chair.

There is a game table off to the side, near the electronic dart board. The waterfront side of the home is what will really knock your socks off! 900 square feet of deck cantilever toward the creek.

The bullfrogs, ducks and songbirds abound! Sometimes a heron lands on the balcony rail. Plenty of patio furniture to enjoy the great outdoors, steps lead down to the creek where you can enjoy the sights and sounds from a rustic wooden bench set between two trees.

Elevation is about 6350 feet, lots of juniper, not many pine trees. Definitely cooler weather than the valley cities! About 3.5 hour drive from Tucson or Phoenix. In winter we generally have less snow than Pinetop/Lakeside because of our lower elevation.

The master bedroom is large and overlooks the deck and creek. There is a queen size bed and a full size futon. One bedroom has queen size bunk beds and the other has a queen bed.

Our home is clean, but admittedly the carpet is worn.

Between allowing pets, active guests and being right on the water, the carpet shows its age. We have no plans to replace it in the near future because we have so many guests that like to travel with their pets. If you have pet allergies, be advised that pets have stayed here.

If you are looking for elegance, this is not the place. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place at a good price, this may be the place! Look around the site, compare prices and contact us if you want more information.

We are a family that loves the outdoors and love to escape from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. This home is a peaceful getaway. Comfortable and quiet. Inspiring creek side views and amazing stargazing. We have celebrated many holidays in this home and all our friends love to spend the weekend. There is something for every one to enjoy and room for lots of company to sleep over!

Why Nancy and LeRoy chose Show Low

This home is just under 4 hours from Tucson or Phoenix, which makes for an ideal weekend trip. We are located downstream from a state trout hatchery, some fishing rods are available in the home. We are in a community with the largest private lake in Arizona. Motor boats allowed, water skiing, canoeing, sailing, swimming and fishing all happening less than 10 minutes from our home. Winter trips can include a visit to Sunrise Ski Resort just an hour away and casino action available at Hon Dah casino, just past Pinetop. Lots of restaurants and activities year round. Lots of hiking and lakes in the area.

Horseback riding about 15 minutes away. About 90 minutes from Canyon De Chelly and Petrified Forest National Park and Painted Desert National Park. A great place to enjoy all four seasons in Arizona.

What makes this mobile home unique

Although we are a bit out of town, we enjoy the peaceful lifestyle without being very rural. The water front is a huge draw, the stars at night are phenomenal! We see just six lights in view of the surrounding area from the deck and if you know what you are looking for, you can see the new windfarms touted in northern Arizona. We see lots of water fowl including ducks and heron, an occasional beaver or fox and even the occasional eagle flying by. This may be a great base camp for hunters looking for more than a primitive cabin in the area too.

Good Time

We enjoyed our time at this rental. The home is clean and well maintained. For us this was a chance to relax and spend time with some of our children and grandchildren. The only disappointing aspect was regarding the creek. You really can't get to it without getting muddy and having water up to your ankles. We thought this would be a place that the grandkids could practice fishing without having to leave the property. We did go to one of the area lakes as well as the fishery that is near by. Again we had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday weekend. I would definitely recommend it to others seeking a relaxing time in the Showlow area. Thanks so much!

Cool Mountain Get Away!

We came across this cabin while we were trying to find a place to stay on very short notice. This is truly a home away from home. The owners have made sure you have every comfort of home. It is perfectly decorated and very comfortable. Nancy was so pleasant to work with and made sure everything was great for our stay. She was quick to answer any questions and provided useful information about the area as well The cabin was clean, well maintained and exactly as advertised. Overall we could not have expected more. Thanks!!!

Needs TLC

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Found a piece of dog poop on the carpet. Carpet has stains, tears and a foul odor. Most of the windows are cracked or have BB gun holes. My foot fell through the front porch as I was entering the front door. This place is in desperate need of TLC.

I was very happy with the location- the view of the pond, ducks and sunsets is beyond amazing. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities.

The property manager was very helpful and responded fast to my concerns.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

Owner's Response: We regret this guest was not fully satisfied with her visit and appreciate this space to respond.
First, we ask that when you arrive at our home, please look at it thoroughly and if you do not find it to your expectations, please call us immediately and we will do our best to reasonably address the situation. We can't make things right for you months later if you don't tell us during your visit that you are not satisfied.
This guest did find dog waste and we were mortified to hear that and know it was not a good first impression. The housekeeper's dog was the culprit and she too was mortified, apologized profusely and promised it will not happen again. This was a one time event and we immediately offered the guest a credit on the rent.
We admit there is some deferred maintenance because we rent the home almost continuously from May through October and do repairs In Spring. The carpet is older and worn, but cleaned regularly. We don't intend to replace it soon though because we have so many guests that like to travel with their pet. No one told us about the porch, but the owner noticed the damage when he visited in October and repaired it right away. We want to hear about safety issues especially. We have learned that a rural property like this, on the water, with rainy, snowy and windy weather, wild animals such as fox, raccoon and mice as pests, continuously needs repair. We try to address the safety and more important maintenance issues right away and save other issues for the Spring repair trip.
We try to be fair and responsible owners. We discounted the rental for this guest and changed the listing to let future guests know our home is a bit worn. We are the lowest priced rental for a private home of this size on the mountain and feel our home is a bargain. Where else can 4 adults and 2 children stay for less than 32 dl a person a night and have a fully equipped kitchen, BBQ and water front views in Arizona? This is not a luxury home and if that is what you want, there are several in the area at a higher price. If you are looking for a bargain, know that our home is not perfect, but is perfectly suitable for a wonderful vacation stay.
We take the review to heart and hope future guests will understand that this is a clean but worn home. We love our home, the rural location, and the comfortable feel and hope our guests will too.

This is a wonderful place. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend it to family and friends (and we have). I would say if you have any problems, instead of griping in a review, just talk to Nancy, and they will take care of you. The only regret we had was that we couldn't stay longer!! Picked up dinner from Native New Yorker in Show Low and ate out on the deck. (Our favorite pizza place--Pat's had closed--bummer) Took the dogs out onto the huge deck--the stairs leading down to the creek and the ramp from the front driveway both had gates that could be closed to keep the deck enclosed, so we didn't have to worry about the dogs wandering off. Great hammock on the deck, too.
This house has everything you could ever need--even fishing gear and a spare water bowl for the dogs. Definitely hope to stay here again.

We are in a rural area about 20 minutes from Show Low proper. If you are looking for elegance, this is not the place for you!

If you want a quiet, private get away, this could be the place. Our home is sited on a pond formed by the damming of Silver Creek, a locally well known creek for trout fishing. The creek is on Hatchery Rd, stocked by AZ Fish and Game Department. The hatchery is about 1/2 mile away and in addition to great fishing offers a nice hike up to the hatchery raceway where you will probably see the largest trout in your life!

We have a private community lake that is fed by Silver Creek and used by the farms north in Taylor and Snowflake to irrigate their crops. We like the area because we have access to the Show Low, Lakeside and Pinetop shopping or can choose to go north to Snowflake and Taylor to avoid the crowds on holiday weekends.

We are about 15 minutes from stables at Flag Hollow Ranch. Our 8 and 10 year old nieces loved their first trail ride through the woods and past the lake this summer.

We are about 5 miles from Pintail Lake which is a handicap accessible park for wildlife viewing. (By the way, our home is pretty handicap accessible with a ramp to the deck to avoid the front steps, you do have to go through gravel to reach the ramp though.)

It is about an hour and 20 minutes to Sunrise Ski Resort, a year round attraction with its beautiful mountain, chair lift rides and mountain biking in the summer/ skiing, snowboarding, sledding and wagon rides in the winter.

We love the casual comfort of the home, the easy accessibility from Tucson or Phoenix and the peace and quiet.

There are a few places to dine in the area: Hole in One which serves only great burgers, Silver Creek Golf course about 1 mile away which has a casual restaurant for breakfast, lunch an dinner in summer, and the Red House Pizza which delivers. 12 minutes away is the Stanford General Store near Hwy 60 & 61. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner made to order, plus a deli counter. You will find various restaurant menus in our information book.

Our home was manufactured in the 1996, has high ceilings and has a block foundation. The carpet is older, but because we do allow pets at this time we choose not to replace it. We clean it regularly, but it does show it's age. Between the pets, the active guests and the proximity to the pond, the carpet does get a lot of wear.

We took the property photos ourselves, they are accurate, but we have had guests who said the property did not meet their expectations. This is not a luxury rental and the price reflects that.
