About Janette Rapaccioli

We have been living in Eygalieres for 20 years.

We lived in this house for fifteen years, and are now renting it and welcoming visitors from all over.

We have had many American renters, all very happy with their stay in the house and in provence.

Janette Rapaccioli purchased this villa in 1994

Why Janette Rapaccioli chose Eygalieres

The weather is marvelous. Eygalieres is in the center of Provence and is a beautiful, typically Provencal village, fashionable yet small enough to be quaint.

Saint Remy, a beautiful and fashionable town with plenty of bars and restaurants is fifteen minutes away. Walk it's old streets, admire the architecture, and discover the birthplace of Nostradamus.

Twenty minutes away is l'Isle sur la Sorgue, a marvelous town and its renown antique shops

A mere half an hour away is Avignon with its renown summer Festival d'Avignon, and the Papal palace dating from when the Popes settled in Avignon.

Forty five minutes away is Aix, the famous university town.

What makes this villa unique

The house and its surroundings is amazingly quiet and peaceful, with great views of the Alpilles mountains and countryside.

Yet, the village of Eygalières and it's shops and restaurants are barelly five minutes away. You can take a pleasant ten minute walk from the house to the Saint-Sixte Chapel, an icon of Provence.

On fridays, you can go to the Eygalieres market and savour local specialties, admire local crafts or just take in the old world atmosphere. You will find traditional markets in neighboring towns on every day of the week.

You will find a great butcher in Eygalières, two excellent bakeries, a great grocery store with great produce, a pharmacy, post office, doctors, dentists, book store, bistros, cafés and restaurants and more, all five minutes away.

Highly recommended villa in the heart of Provence

  • 5 of 5

We rented the villa over an extended week-end for a get-together of 10 friends.

The house is in excellent condition, extremely clean, and quite nicely decorated. It comes with a large swimming pool and a huge backyard - great for all kind of sports. The 5 bedrooms with dedicated bathrooms, the large living room and kitchen are perfect.

The location is only a few kilometers out of the village of Eygalieres and is therefore both very quiet and practical. From the house, you also get a perfect view on the Alpilles and wonderful sunsets.

Finally the owner is very nice and helpful. We all very much enjoyed our stay in this wonderful villa.

Owner's Response: A great feature of the house is that it lies in the middle of a no-construction area (five years ago four acres were needed to build) that extends to the famous Chapelle Saint-Sixte which is a ten minute walk away. As a result, the area is much less densely built than other areas of Eygalieres (properties here have four acres and above). No houses or neighbors are visible from the house or its property. The village of Eygalieres is less than a five minute drive or fifteen minute walk (1.5 kilometer/not quite 1 mile).

We rented the villa for a week away with our family to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary .It was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there .The house was very clean and had everything we needed .The kitchen was the best equipped we have ever had. The bedrooms all had air conditioning which on very warm nights was nice to have .

The pool is lovely and very safely secured with hedges and fence ,plus security gates to get into the pool area .Our two year old grandson loved it and by the last day had learnt to swim with his armbands a width of the pool ! There were lots of shaded areas to sit in and plenty of options for meal times [kitchen ,dining area in lounge ,2 outside areas ] As a family we had several table tennis challenges between ourselves .Mum and Dad were able to prove we still could beat the youngsters !!

The grounds were lovely to wander and included an orchard ,which if you were walking to the village ,you could cross ,and this took 15 mins off the walking time. The property is entered through security gates so we felt very safe here.

The area is a very pretty one and there are plenty of places to go to visit and explore. The local markets were fun to visit. We will enjoy returning to investigate more.

Francoise the owner was very helpful and always available by phone .If there was a problem he would pop over to sort things out quickly .[not that we had any major problems, but nice to know he was available ]

We ate out one night at La Petit Table which was very nice .

We would strongly recommend this property .

What a great place for family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this charming villa. The owner is very kind and helpfully in every subject, the view is just great, gives you the feeling of the region, close to a perfect village. We had amazing family cooking together with the best local food, and local wines. The rooms are big to give you enough space. We would go back again soon to this charming property.

A Wnnderful Villa

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect villa for our party of 7 adults for two weeks. We travel to Europe every autumn and look for a villa with good bathrooms and a good kitchen. The villa had separate showers (enclosed, which we prefer, rather than just hand-held showers and a bathtub). The villa had everything we needed, including a kitchen good enough to actually cook in. All of the appliances worked, and there was even a clothes dryer, which is hard to find! We experienced very congenial times dining and socializing at the villa. The beds were comfortable and the owner was nearby and available if needed. The nearby towns had good restaurants and the villa was located such that one could take many good day trips to see lovely towns in Provence. I highly recommend this villa!

A Heavenly Beautiful Villa

  • 5 of 5

Our group of ten people rented this villa for only a week and everything during our stay was nothing short of excellent. The house is very spacious with each bedroom having a bathroom and shower. Kitchen amenities were perfect. Looking at the listing photos after our stay, the property is much more beautiful when seen in person. The house was spotlessly clean and surrounding grounds are beautifully maintained. The property owner, Francois Rapaccioli, is articulate and sincere. He made the booking process simple and honest. The deposit and final payment very straight forward and problem free. Francois made himself available at all times for any questions or issues. He will tell you or show you where to buy bread, drink wine, and buy some of the best food in Provence. I definitely recommend this property to anyone who wishes a dream vacation in a beautiful French villa in Provence in the charming village of Eygalieres. As an overall experience, I give the property and its owner six stars (out of a possible five). Francois, merci beaucoup!

Absolutely wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We (2 families with 6 kids from 3 to 10) came in 2012 and 2013 and each time spent a delighful week in this beautiful villa with stunning views, in a calm and private environment. Terraces surround the house and the climbing plants offer a cool shadow and allow to stay outside at any time of the day enjoying the view. The pool is well secured (for the kids) and very warm as it is sunny all day long and easily covered during nights. Plenty of space in the house and in the garden. The house remains cool, offers several places to meet, is very clean, nicely furnished and has many practical details that make you feel at home and make life really easy. Bedrooms are private and comfortable. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and always happy to share the secrets of the beautiful area of Eygalieres. The village is typical of Provence, charming and with lots of facilities (library, books & newspapers seller, chemist, and the best butcher we've ever tasted) A wonderful week : we'll come back!
