Hi Carla: Just a quick note to say how much both Jeremy, myself and of course Cha Cha enjoyed our stay at your place this past week. You have a lovely place ,along with a beautiful landscape, which just adds to general well being of the holiday get away.I'm sure we will be back at some point again. All the very Best Natasha
We are two couples, best friends, who have just spent four wonderful nights in the Guest House at Big Horn Ridge. The location is of course ideal as a base for visiting the Central and South Okanagan Wineries. The Guest House is beautifully appointed, and lovingly and meticulously maintained, and we had a splendid time. To give an idea of the welcome offered by Roger and Carla, I provide the following little anecdote: upon arriving back at the Guest House from a day of Naramata wine touring, on what was exactly my 70th birthday, we were greeted by Carla who said, "There's been a delivery, and it's perishable." It turned out that a dear friend, from another province, had called and asked Carla (whom we hadn't even met yet) whether there was a place nearby that could put together a gift basket, comprising fruit, cheese, crackers, etc. There being no such business nearby, dear Carla took it upon herself to scout around the area, and created a most wonderful collection of goodies, topped off by a 70th birthday helium-filled balloon. This was truly above and beyond the call, and I was touched beyond words. We'll definitely be back!
We stayed for 5 nights at Bighorn Ridge. It was was the perfect respite after days spent tasting wines. We loved the relaxing atmosphere and ambience of the surrounding nature. The patio areas were amble and absolutely perfect for relaxing. We loved eating all of our meals outside. Roger and Carla were terrific hosts! Providing excellent tips and advice to complement our annual "wine pilgrimage." It is located the perfect distance from OK Falls for swimming in Skaha lake and an easy drive south to Oliver or North to Naramata for wine. Furthermore, there are many excellent wineries in the area within walking distance. The room itself is terrific! Comfy bed and a lovely sitting area. The shower was great! There is a big kitchen that both suites share. Overall, Bighorn Ridge is a wonderful holiday destination. We will be back!
This wonderful"Tuscanesque" retreat offers amazing views, natural vegetation and a zen like tranquility - hard to find in this day and age. The accommodation is artistic, authentic, and fully outfitted for those of discerning taste. Close to a myriad of major wineries and a plethora of excellent golf courses we thought we had died and gone to heaven. If you have a pet then you are in luck. Our four legged friends like it as much if not more than we humans. Outstanding B and B. It does not disappoint.
This was my second stay at the guest house, accompanied by my golden retriever, for a few days of R&R and wine-shopping. The hosts are warm and friendly, never intrusive but always helpful. They welcome my dog, provide lists of off-leash trails and even pet-friendly wineries. The small apartment is cozy and has a wonderful view of Vaseux Lake and the cliffs north of Oliver - savored every day with a glass of wine from the porch swing. The shared kitchen is well-equipped, meals can be taken under the awning on the lovely deck. Quiet. Beautiful. Luxurious. Revitalizing. Could become an annual pilgrimage!
Comfortable, clean and very well appointed accommodations. Wonderful, quiet, country setting with geat lake and vineyard views. Deer friends abound. Friendly, helpful and gracious hosts. Very pet friendly. Would definitely recommend to friends.
We looked for a pet-friendly place where to stay for the long weekend with our dog. I found the Bighorn Ridge Guesthouse on the internet and send an e-mail. Less than 2 minutes later, Carla (one of the owners) called me to give me detailed information about the place.
Once we got there, we were not disappointed at all. The surroundings are beautiful and although there are three wineries nearby, we didn't get the noise and crowd that comes with the wineries.
Our dog had space to run around and explore. The two golden retrievers that live here are so friendly!
The rooms are absolutely clean and Carla welcomed us with a bottle of wine and a treat for our dog. We didn't need to use the A/C, it was cool inside which is appreciated when it's hot outside.
Big washroom with towels and toiletries. Nice bed with extra blankets if needed. Very nice flat screen TV with cable. There is a small electric fireplace.
The kitchen is shared with an electric stove, fridge, lots of plates/glasses/mugs and a big BBQ outside!.
This place goes the extra mile when it comes to the dogs. There are towels and poop bags. You get a map with the various trails around the guesthouse to walk with your dog. Water bowls outside and inside the room. I am sure my dog had an awesome time just as we did.
