This charming place has the feel of a 'Beach Cottage' even though it is not directly on the Beach. Ceramic tile floors withstand the ocean and sand, and the cheery tropical bathroom lets you know you're at the beach. Soothing seashore colors of blues and greens relax you, and the sound of the ocean will lull you to sleep.
This apartment is located on the first floor of a lovingly renovated older home in a quiet residential neighborhood. Beach access is right outside your front door - just cross the street and you'll see it! Have your morning coffee at the table and chairs on the terrace by your entrance. Read the paper and enjoy the people going by - walking, jogging, or riding bicycles. The City of Cape Canaveral has just put in a new bicycle path that runs right in front of our place and the pedestrian sidewalk is right across the street. You will also see many people walking their dogs as the neighborhood is very pet friendly.
This past Fall we just remodeled the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. New appliances, and an ice maker in the fridge plus new carpet in the bedroom make the place feel fresh again. We have also added broadband internet along with secured WiFi and standard HD cable TV to our amenities.
My husband and I are 'semi-natives' to Florida having left the cold of New Hampshire and Western New York over 30 years ago.
Kathy purchased this apartment in 1997
We live and work in Orlando and found ourselves heading to the beach when ever we could. It just made more sense to buy this lovely old home then to pay for Hotel rooms. The place has 4 Units and we kept one for ourselves.....offering vacation rentals so more people can enjoy what we do.
We love the charm of this older building surrounded by Palm trees on the corner of the beach access road. 300 steps and you are.on the beach. We take care of the property ourselves so you will always know that from the friendly welcome to the personal touches that we are happy that you chose to stay here.
MS Kathy - Thank you so much for the bucket of goodies! We really enjoyed your comfy condo, it felt like home. We hope to visit again. Thank you for all of your hospitality! Sincerely, Lena & Eva
(The girls really enjoyed their stay and left this note for me !!)
My positive experience started with my back and forth emails with Kathleen. She responded punctually with sound answers and suggestions. I used her suggestion for travel from Orlando airport to the apartment and was extremely satisfied. The apartment is impeccably clean, well appointed with all necessities and then some. A welcome basket of goodies awaited my arrival. Free wifi and clean laundry facility in the building were wonderful perks. This apartment is only one block from a beautiful sand beach and within walking distance of the Publix grocery store, Cocoa Beach Pier and Port Canaveral if you like to walk. Bikes were available for use and worked wonderfully. I was lucky enough to sit and have a visit with Kathleen, a lovely personable lady. Highly recommend this hidden gem in Cape Canaveral.
First off I cannot rave enough about how wonderful Kathleen and Scott were in making my stay simply perfect. I arrived and was greeted by Kathleen who gave me a tour of the cottage and the grounds. She even had a welcome basket full of goodies for me and my dog, plus she had decorated the cottage for Christmas. There is a binder under the TV full of information about the area that was very useful. The cottage was impeccably clean and just what I needed. It had a full bath, a bedroom, a main room with a kitchen that had everything you could need for eating in, and an entertainment center. There is a laundry room out back too. They provided me with a bike that I rode up to Port Canaveral and down to the pier. Except for going to the grocery store and some other activities, I really didn't need my car. The cottage is quaintly and conveniently situated in a residential neighborhood, away from the busy tourist areas but close enough to get to them easily. The beach access is literally just steps away. I went there several times of day. The beaches are wide and you can ride a bike down them if you like, although I didn't as the salt and sand can rust a bike easily. There are plenty of safe sidewalks for walking and biking. Up the road there is a pack of 8-10 peacocks wandering about eating and displaying plumage. From the beach, you can also view the NASA launches and the ships coming and going about a mile north. Low tide was the perfect time to collect shells. When I walked my dog, the neighbors greeted me like they might in a small town. The sun rose out front and I had breakfast on the front porch each morning. I biked to the other side of the island and watched the sunsets too. Fresh, local seafood was available in many fine restaurants and markets. There are about three citrus groves in the area too, I preferred Policicchio's on route 3 going toward NASA, where you can buy fresh-squeezed juices and assorted fruits. The orange juice was like tasting liquid sunshine. Be sure to bring some home in a cooler. I needed a restful getaway and this was just perfect. Kathleen and Scott gave me lots of space to do my own thing but were there promptly if I needed anything at any time. This cottage truly is a gem. I will definitely return.
My husband & I along with our black lab stayed for 3 nights at this quaint one bedroom beach themed apartment. Booking was very easy and Kathy was very quick and responsive with any inquiries. I gave the rating 4 stars due to the bedroom not being able to get cool enough. The room has one window ac unit and the flow just doesn't quite reach the room. There are ceiling fans though, but it was still a bit hot. That was the only thing we found to be a "bad thing". Loved the outside shower, and access to the laundry room and beach accessories. THe owners really thought of everything. The location as it says, down the street just one block to FREE beach access! Being from SW FL trying to find free beach access these days is nearly impossible. The beaches were only really "crowded" on the weekends, there was still plenty of beach spots so not as crowded as popular beach spots. During the week the beach was all yours, very relaxing. The neighborhood was very quiet and safe. People are out walking the streets or riding their bikes day and night. I'd definitely stay at this house again and try to rent the two bedroom next time!
What a stunning little place! Right next to the beach, everything you could possibly want too. The Owners add superb little touches especially the yummy key lime loaf!!! We had so much fun at this place - it really is wonderful. Owners were excellent to communicate with and helped us with lots of things. Will definitely return again!!!
Perfect cozy place for 2. Very convenient to beach and easy access to hwy to enjoy Kennedy Space Center, and quick to cruise ship. Highly recommend. would love to come back!
Had a great time staying at the cute little beach bungalow. Well-appointed, convenient location, and very clean. Had all the necessities for a short stay for my mom and me before we headed out to Port Canaveral to depart for our cruise!
We are located 1 1/2 miles south of Jetty Park and 1 1/2 miles north of The Cocoa Beach Pier. The Beach House is on the corner of the beach access road which means we are a very short walk to the beach. It is a quiet neighborhood place with Condos and Townhouses surrounding us, no Hotels or Souvenir Shops. For those of you who prefer not to deal with 'Condo' rules, parking passes, or elevators, this is the place for you!! You can park in front of your door which makes loading and unloading the car a breeze.
We are a few miles from the Port where you will find restaurants, seafood markets, charter fishing boats and Cruise lines. The Airport in Orlando is 45 minutes away, and Disney is about 1 hour.
