I recently purchased this property and had fun decorating it and supplying it with all the amenities for your stay. It has a great kitchen equipped to prepare full meals or throw together a quick snack. It is fully stocked with all the staples to make your meal preparation quick and easy. There are complete laundry facilities. It possesses a fenced shady yard perfect for relaxing at the end of your day of touring. The house is in a quiet safe neighborhood. (My house is just around the corner.)
The house is two blocks from the Civic Center, making it extremely convenient to attend events there. It is walking distance to historic downtown where you can enjoy shopping, dining, and nightlife entertainment. Along the way you will find the walking and bike path that run along side of Rapid Creek, perfect for an early morning run or evening stroll.
A quick drive will take you to the Black Hills where you can visit Mount Rushmore, Custer Park, Crazy Horse and the quaint little towns such as Deadwood, Sturgis, Hill City and Keystone. In the other direction, is Wall Drug and the Bad Lands. Another great day trip is Devil's Tower. The house is in a perfect location with easy access to the major roads and highways to take you to your destination.
People ask me 'why did you move to South Dakota?' I tell them that it's because I love it here. (I'm a life time resident of California) After renovating and decorating my vacation rental, I decided to move on to bigger things. Now most of my time is consumed with the renovating of a house built in 1917. It's my passion to bring it back to it's former glory. My warning to you would be travelers to this area is, 'be careful, you might just decide to stay'

I reluctantly agreed to visit a friend in Rapid City. After a long drive in the Black Hills in her convertible, I decided to buy a vacation house here. After spending some time here, I decided to sell my home in California. I then bought a larger house in which I'm renovating I recently purchased the house around the corner as an investment property in which I'm making available to you for your vacation.
This house is located two blocks from the Civic Center. It's walking distance to Downtown with the unique shopping, restaurants and night life. The central location is great with easy access to the roads that will take you to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer Park, the Bad Lands and beyond.
We loved our stay here. It was quiet, close to everything we could need. and absolutely beautiful!! This was our first time staying in a rental vs. a hotel & hope to do this more often. It was a pleasure.

My family and I had an exceptional stay at this house. There was plenty of room for the children, both inside and outside. It was so nice to be able to prepare our meals in the well supplied kitchen, and to do laundry at the end of the day. The location is great for both in town activities, and tourist destinations.
Our family of 5 stayed here for a week+ at the end of July. Amie met us on arrival and showed us around the house, she was a wonderful host! We really enjoyed our stay here, it had the right amount of space and the location was great. If the weather was nice, we would take walks in the evenings to downtown Rapid City or the frozen yogurt place a few blocks away. It was not more than an 1-1.5 hours from everything we wanted to see: Devils Tower, Spearfish Canyon, The Badlands, Wind Cave, Harney Peak... it was nice to not have to drive too far to anything. Again, can't say enough about this cozy rental and Amie-- we felt well taken care of and the rental was well equipped. We loved it here--thank you for sharing your home with us!
Really enjoyed staying at this quaint little house. Amie the owner is extremely hospitable and this home was certainly well appointment and with lots of amenities. We came up from Atlanta, GA for the Sturgis Rally and to take advantage of being able to sightsee in a very picturesque part of the country. This home is strategically located to the downtown area and has easy freeway access, yet it still provided a "tucked" away feeling. There was ample parking for our truck and bike trailer. The location of the property put us within easy riding distance of Sturgis, The Badlands, The Black Hills National Forrest, and Devils Tower, Wyoming. We have no hesitation recommending this property and we would stay there again if the opportunity ever presents itself.
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The landlady (Amie) met us when we arrived and showed us around pointing out extra amenities to make our stay more comfortable. She even shared the bounty of her garden with us. The bedrooms were a little warm during the day but with a fan, we slept very comfortably at night. The kitchen dining area was a great gathering space for the family and seemed to be where we gravitated. It was cooled nicely by a window a/c unit. Amie was always available and immediately handled any issues we had. The pictures of the property represented the house accurately and it is very centrally located and easy to find. Overall very pleasant experience and we would recommend renting this property or any of Amie's other properties to family and friends.
The pictures of the outside of the house needs to be up-dated. The patio was over run by the bushes. We bought raid there was so many ants and otther bugs on patio. the house was not clean. there was food behind the coffee table in living room I have never seen so much dust under furniture and cob webs hanging in doorways. I was in shower looked up and from shower curtian to ceiling solid cob webs. No one has moved any furniture to vacum underneath any of it. We left a light on in kitchen and livingroom after 1st night there. I got up to get water and turned light on and bugs ran. I wanted to leave the next morning but we couldn't find another place to stay. Last minute in that area right before Sturges was going to cost us at least triple the price. The beds were so hard. Needs new mattresses on them. There was even major dust on candles and everything. I had to double up on my meds just to stay there. We didn't stay in the house much at all due to dust and bugs. Like I said they need to update the pictures.The weeds have taken over were you have to park. We will never rent from her again. We found a wonderful place in the Blackhills we will stay next time. The owner is nice but she needs to hire a maid service.
Owners live close to property and are available if needed. House is clean and fully stocked with everything you need, including things you may have forgotten at home. Thanks Amie!
