We had a wonderful experience from the very beginning. The owner provided us with the contacts and people who managed the house in Manuel Antonio, and they were helpful at all times. The house is fully equipped with housekeeping service every other day... it felt like home. We can´t wait to go back. It was everything we expected and more.
Beautiful place. We tend to do our own thing so we didn't take advantage of what was offered. However if you want to get spoiled you can. The concierge Willi was always present offering us help if we wanted it
Our family of four, 2 adults and 2 children, stayed in this house for a week. We loved it!! The house has two levels with one bedroom located downstairs with a separate entrance. Our teenage son enjoyed his independence. Wi-Fi was working without any problems. There was an AC unit in each room, and we could set a comfortable temperature. The house is located close to the beach and Manuel Antonio National Park. A house keeper came every other day to clean the house and do laundry. She did not speak English, but was very nice and did a very good job. I would highly recommend this property.
We stayed at this Villa in December 2013. There were 6 adults and two children. There was plenty of room and the upstairs was really comfortable. The only issue we had was the downstairs had a funny smell, but they tried really hard to take care of the problem and were super accommodating about it. The caretaker was easy to get ahold of and she was great in booking trips. There are squirrel monkeys that come through every so often which was a wonderful experience. The housekeeper was great too. I would definitely stay here again. Costa Rica is truly a paradise.
We stayed with our 3 kids (6,4,1 years old) for about 6 days here and loved it.
Villa Amarilla is one of about 5 units of an older "development" (not sure if ok to name it, so won't), each is about 5-15 yards from each other and very private. Every unit has a different owner. The unit has two separate areas with separate entrances, the downstairs one we did not touch at all. Note: it has a bathroom which is where the washer/dryer is. The room felt a bit humid, but i think there was a dehumidifer in it which was not turned on,; worth inquiring about if you plan on using it. Becuase we did not use it cannot comment on it further.
The 5 units share a swimming pool and a small parking area (4 spaces, always some available).
There is a restaurant next door, for everything else we used the car.
Both Quepos and the National park are within a 5 minute drive. One could get to both places by the bus other have mentioned, but we benefited from having the car, especially because of the kids, so that we could drive to buy groceries, and go to the park and beach when we needed. Parking was off street but also off the gated part of the community. It felt totally safe and there was always space.
We really liked it. The furniture is comfortable, the terrace/porch very inviting, the swimming pool is great, as you feel like you are swimming in the jungle, the bedrooms are comfortable, and the bathrooms seem new and very inviting too. With young kids napping we spent several hours in this place every day and were very happy with it.
Very few: living room felt a bit dark at night (single 100w light bulb for big area), kitchen could have used a few more supplies (like oil or teaspoons) and directions to get to Villa Amarilla could have helped (note: in Costa Rica there are no addresses for the most part, so getting places is usually trickier than in other countries)
If we go back to Manuel Antonio, we will try to rent this place again. Strongly recommended.
Not sure I would come here without a car, but other reviewers seemed to have been happy without it.
Clean, convenient, roomy and safe! The trip could not have been easier! The property manager provided great service and provided a great itinerary. The accommodations were fabulous! While there were only 2 of us, the place could have easily housed 6-8 comfortably. Hot water, AC, comfortable beds, washer & dryer...all the comforts of home and enough shelving & drawers to unpack. Nice neighborhood, easy to jump on bus to Quepos or Manuel Antonio Park. Pool, clean, nice temp and quiet (well except when the howler monkeys were startled). We hired a private chef who was AMAZING (Sylvanna) and definitely added much enjoyment and wow factor to our trip. Overall a GREAT experience and we will go back!!! This is a great place for a romantic getaway or family vacation!
