St. Simons Island is a very special island community. The area is home to abundant sea life and coastal birds. It runs apart of a chain of islands including Sapelo island,Sea Island, Little St. Simons island, Jekyll Island, and Cumberland Island. There are over 3 miles of beaches for walking and riding bikes. The island is well - equipped with sidewalks for riding bikes to your favorite shops and restaurants. It's a great community, with great food, that welcomes tourists and families. The village hosts art festivals and antique shows regularly, and during the summer there is live music on Sundays by the lighthouse, and in local establishments nightly. Everyone goes! Jekyll Island is definitely worth visiting for history buffs, golfers, and for the water park. Deep Sea Fishing is available as well as Dolphin Tours. Dolphins can be seen many days just walking the beach. I love it, and I think you'll love it too!

Water Activities: Brand New Family Fun Zone is open just down the street ($7 a day). It's a Brand New Pool oceanside, next to the lighthouse. It has a water playland for the smaller tikes too. Easy access between pool and beach so you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Full snack bar, and new putt-putt course. For hanging out at the beach, we recommend the beach that falls between 5th street and the old coast guard station about a 1 1/2 stretch. For more adventure visit Jekyll Island Water park a full scale waterpark with wave pool, big slides, lazy river ect.

Fishing/Golf/Tennis/Biking/Dolphin Tour/Kayaking : Pier fishing and crabbing is a popular acitvity. A fishing license is available at the tackle shop next to the pier. Offshore or Intracoastal fishing - Let us know if this is in your plans. We can put you in touch with some local captains that know their stuff. Golf- On the Island is the Hampton Plantation Golf Course. In Brunswick - Glynco Public Golf Course Tennis - Many open courts around the island Dolphin Tour - Golden Isles Marina Kayaking Tour- Sign up in the village at the Kayak Shop.

Our Favorite Restaurants and Hangouts: St. Simons is a small place in the winter without all the tourists. If the locals don't like the food or think it's a good value, your just not going to make it to the next tourist season. So once you know what you hungry for, just as a local. Coffee/Cappucino/Latte's - Palm Coast Coffe (In the Village with free wi-fi) Breakfast - SandCastle ( Breakfast Buffet) or Mallory Cafe (Eggs Benedict) (Both in the Village) Lunch - 4th of May's (daily specials), Barbara Jeans, Bubba Garcia (shrimp Tostadas) - Knats Landing (Crab Balls and Sweet Potato Fries), and the New Sushi place redfern Dinner - CrabDaddy's (Best Seafood, Bottomless Salad, and Homemade bread / Crab Trap (Fried Shrimp) / Blackwater Grill - Shrimp N Grits/ CJ'S Pizza - The Pizza
