We want you to enjoy stay at wonderful Cherry House Resort!
Originally we purchased this duplex as a monthly rental. However, the location is such that we wanted to share it as a weekly rental. We began this project in the spring of 2009 and completed it early this summer. The adjacent townhome will be available for rent next season. This would make it possible for two families to enjoy themselves at a single location. We are confident you will enjoy your stay.
Linda Wood purchased this townhome in 2000
Prior to using this as a vacation rental property it was a monthly rental. However, each time we improved the property I was impressed with the location and the amenities it had to offer. We live near by and I personally know how beautiful it is all year round. Whenever I am at Cherry House II I become more attached to the neighborhood and surroundings. On Sunday morings I have heard the church bells from the small church around the corner. The back yard fire-pit is wonderful in the evenings. Walks to Pere Marquette Beach are fun and then we return to Cherry House easily. Lakeside is a great place for shopping with candy store, art stores, book stores. You are sure to enjoy this stay.
This neighborhood is so entirely unique. Buster Keaton and his entourage summered here. There is history in the whole neighborhood. Each fall this is a 'Buster Keaton Festival'. The church bells ringing at noon everyday. The breeze, the waves. Its all very lovely.
We had a great time staying in your house for our "Family Week". Having the Two houses connected was so convenient. All of us could be together!!! The house is comfortable, has everything we could need and is in such a quiet neighborhood.
We would definitely like to come back again.
This is the 2nd time we are going to Muskegon and to this exact vacation rental. Muskegon in general may not be the best town as far as great restaurant selection; it's not very artsy as well. However, this is definitely one of the best places on lake Michigan for nature lovers. Beaches are beautiful, parks for hiking are everywhere. If you come with kids it's great location too as there is a great adventure park right in Muskegon, called Michigan Adventure.
The reason we keep coming back to Linda's place is because it's in walking distance to lake Muskegon and lake Michigan, it's cozy and clean, and it virtually has everything a person needs to function like at home. It's not like many other rental places where you need to bring half of your home with you. This place has it all! Thank you, Linda, for creating a true home away from home for your tenants.
We will be back, both in Muskegon and in this vacation home.
Family of 6 from Ann Arbor
We had so much fun! We enjoyed riding the bikes that were provided. And Pere Marquette beach was only a ten minute walk or a short car ride away. The house was so cute and I loved all the decorations. This was my first time visiting Michigan and I can't wait to visit again!!
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage in Muskegon. Very quaint and quiet little neighborhood full of charm right next to downtown. Hope to stay again soon.
Loved the location to Lake Michigan - 5 minute walk. Nice walking trails near house. House met our needs-spacious and warmly decorated. Would suggest having a folder/binder on the dining room table with all instructions for applicances, TV/WiFi, extra key location, trash collection day, nearest post office, etc. Makes it handy to have it all in one spot without having to hunt for things. Will definitely consider staying here again if we have a big group. Thanks Linda.
My family had a good time at the Bluffton House, public beach is a long walk, or short car ride away. Accomodations in the house made for an enjoyable time.
We traveled to Muskegon to stay at the Cherry House. We were quite pleased with the house and location. The house is a little older, but very comfortable, and the owner provided nearly everything one would need for a weeklong stay--we appreciated the extra little things. It is located about 1 mile from the very nice Lake Michigan Beaches, which was perfect for our boys (2.5 and 4 year olds). While it is possible to walk to the beach, we drove mainly to get closer to the playground on the beach. Speaking of playgrounds, there are tons, we visited over 15 different ones in the area. While we spent the majority of our time at the beach, we did spent an afternoon in the Mall which was quite nice, and we took a day trip (25 min drive) down to Grand Haven which has a very nice tourist shopping area. We also rented a pontoon boat down in Grand Haven. While we didn't take much advantage of the bike trails in the area they seemed very plentiful.
Bluffton Area (titled: Actor's Colony-since Chicago artists populated the area during the 20's and 30's) - a small peninsula nestled between Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake.
Wonderful beaches, boating, hiking trails, shopping - walking distance (.03 mi) to Pere Marquette Park. Public access (1-block) to Muskegon Lake at either end of Cherry Street where you can relax and watch evening sunsets. There is also a public boat launch on Muskegon Lake approximately 1/4 mile from Cherry Resort.
This delightful property is sure to capture your enjoyment at season!
