One group consisted of a Baltimore and a Seattle family, 4 adults and 5 children, vacationing together. Anthony's house is exactly as pictured. We arrived late and he had left the house brightly lit, so it was easy to find. The house was very roomy and, as promised, the kids loved the tower room, the game room, and the grounds. The views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the night sky are gorgeous. We were able to easily explore the areas of the park that interested us. In our case, they were Hurricane Ridge, Rialto Beach, Hoh Rainforest, Lake Crescent, and Sol Duc Springs. All were spectacular in their own way. Historic Port Townsend is nearby as well, and Victoria, Canada is just a ferry ride away. We made some grilled dinners in the evenings, and one is able to make a campfire if there is no ban in effect. The kids enjoyed movies in the evening and the adults enjoyed the outside decks. The house served us much better than any motel rooms would have. We had a very memorable vacation that we will treasure forever. The only negative was the ticket "Ranger Rick" gave us in the evening as we travelled the road along Crescent Lake practically alone, so beware of the speed trap when you least expect it!
We were having a family reunion nearby, so didn't use the property much during the day, but really enjoyed the beautiful views of Vancouver Island and the Strait. The rooms were very comfortable and decorated beautifully. I was able to serve 17 for dinner one night! The kitchen was very well-equipped. Sleeping 10 required some flexibility as there were no doors on the tower room and the family room, but it worked well for us. Lots of hummingbirds and eagle sightings, as well as deer and birds I couldn't identify. A very enjoyable stay.
This place is a gem. Really nice house with great views.
Very spacious. We had 12 adults staying at this property and it never felt crowded. Big lawn with plenty of chairs and places where you can sit and read a book if you want some time down (we really liked the swing with a nice view on the back of the property).
The house was very clean and in great shape when we arrived. The pictures don't make it justice! Enough towels, linens, and toiletries were provided.
The house is 15 minutes west of Port Angeles and close to many great places. If you like nature and hiking this place is great. We organized day trips to Hurricane Ridge (45 min), Sol Duc (1 hr - really nice hike to Deer Lake), and Hoh Rainforest (2 hr).
I would recomment this place to anyone. Thank you Anthony for letting us stay at your place!
Our stay at this property was wonderful and restful. We really enjoyed the surrounding area and the house was beautiful. We cook almost every night and the kitchen was well equipped. We each had a great bedroom and we loved the beautiful deck views. Anthony was a wonderful host!
My family (7 of us, 3 families) stayed here for our annual get-together this year, and it is a beautiful place. It was clean, well-cared-for, and well-equipped. It is quite a large house, with a large living room that could accommodate all of us easily, a large game room with pool table and tv, and nice spacious well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are all nice sizes too. I was worried that "cozy" would mean small, but they are not small at all. The linens (which I am very picky about) were all very nice. The location is very peaceful with beautiful grounds. There is a nice deck with beautiful views of the straight. Definitely a nice and relaxing place to stay!
