Our wonderful wedding week!

We came to NSB for a family vacation and to get married on the beach while we were there. :) Sandy was amazingly helpful with my planning beforehand which took much of the stress away. There was a snack basket filled with goodies for the kids when we arrived. We went to the nearby grocery store and picked up breakfast/lunch items for the week and then ate out at the plethora of area restaurants for dinner. We highly recommend JB's Fishcamp! There was a dolphin swimming right off the dock beside our table. That's pretty cool to an Iowan! And my husband loved the fish reuben at Chase's.
The condo was very clean, has EVERYTHING you could need, and the bed in the master bedroom is extremely comfortable. We slept with the window open every night and were serenaded by the ocean right outside. Truly amazing sleep! The kids (9, 11, 15, and 18) had so much fun playing in the sand and the ocean. Yes, one of the other condo residents told us we were crazy swimming in the cold ocean that time of year, but it was 80+ degrees warmer in NSB than back home so we thought it was great! The pool was a little chillier than we would have liked it, but again, it was late January and still much warmer than the water back home so the kids swam. :) We took daily walks on the beach collecting sea shells. The kids and I enjoyed the tennis courts and wanted to try out the shuffleboard, but we didn't end up having time for that one. Flagler Avenue and Canal Street are both really neat shopping areas with the nicest business owners. We did make a couple trips over to Orlando to go to Discovery Cove (a must do!!!), Universal Studios, and Seaworld. It was an easy 1 to 1-1/2 hour car trip depending on traffic.
The highlight of the week was our wedding on the beach. Sandy suggested the beach right in front of the condos would be an ideal location and she was so right!!! It was beautiful and the wonderful residents, most of whom we hadn't even met yet because we did it so early in the week, all came out on their balconies to watch and applauded us afterwards. We even had one "neighbor" bring us pictures the very next day that they had taken from their balcony and thought we would like to have. How special is that! Everyone we met was just so friendly.
This is a place we would return to again!
