Designed and built by the owners in 2003 for their own idyllic Hill Country escapes, this 10 acre site on the Llano river has all the conveniences . Mornings are heavenly on the 500 sq. foot screened porch while enjoying your coffee and watching the birds at the feeders and taking in the river view. Walk down to the river and enjoy deep swimmimg holes, fishing or just relaxing.
The kitchen is outfitted for everything so that you can prepare your own gourmet meals. Cook outside on a charcoal grill after taking in the 'most dramatic' sunset in Texas.
The den has plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy your book, a Bose ipod docking station to enjoy your own music and a 42' flat screen TV/ DVD for movies or football-Dish network-. On chilly nights light up the wood burning fireplace-gas starter- and kick back until it's time to retire to the bedroom. Master has a tempurpedic king bed and guest room has another king bed and a double bed, both bedrooms have fully equipped bathrooms.
We had a wonderful time; it was my husband and I and two of the kids. The kids had a great time hanging around at the river and chasing minnows, and we loved sitting on the porch and watching the different kinds of birds come along in the morning. It rained most of the weekend but we still enjoyed our stay very much and will be back!
Bright birds and wildlife galore outside, pristine and beautifully appointed accommodations indoors. Subtly masculine; an earthy color scheme accentuated by eclectic décor. Rock formations near the river supplied two teen boys with plenty to explore. Private, peaceful, perfect. Manager is thorough, helpful; so knowledgeable about attractions and the area. Would love to visit again.
I stayed two nights at the Rio de Looney and had a most relaxing stay there. The cabin is immaculate and comfortable. The screened porch is a joy to sit in and watch the birds at the feeders and the humming birds around the beautiful trumpet vines. The little rabbits come out early in the morning and in the evenings. It was so calm and serene, and just a perfect place to unwind and get your bearings again.
Without a doubt we had a most relaxing, peaceful three days. Especially in the cool mornings and evenings. Lucky to be there when the wildflowers were blooming. They were beautiful. Lots of wildlife and great for bird watching. The screened-in, long front porch was a favorite spot for us. Secluded, but close enough to Llano for shopping and meals. We choose to have most meals at the house. The kitchen is well equipped with nice appliances, with plenty of dish and glassware. Makes preparing meals easy and pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to go back again.
The Llano River Retreat is a perfect description for this incredibly relaxing spot in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. The accommodations were reflected accurately with the pictures but probably did not capture all the true beauty of the property. There were absolutely no disappointments during my stay there and I wish the visit had been longer. The property was clean and nicely appointed. I also recommend visiting Llano's town square and the surrounding shops, I found everyone to be friendly and helpful!! This was a wonderful weekend and I hope to return!
This is the best vacation rental place I have ever stayed. Everything needed was there and was perfect! The grounds and walk to the river and the river itself was gorgeous. A perfect place to spend my 50th birthday! Star gazing was unbelievable! Karen was more than accommodating with our late reservation request and very, very helpful!! I would definitely like to stay here again.
