This renovated Greenwich Village apartment occupies the full second floor of an historic building, and offers charming details and authenticity along with modern amenities. The space features a large living room, a dining room great for entertaining, library alcove with a chaise, two bedrooms, and a studio space with exposed brick and large windows. This studio space has a sliding door, so can easily be converted into a 3rd private bedroom. The studio space can also be used as a living room, play area, or workspace. The apartment is spacious and sunny all day long. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, central air conditioning, and satellite TV.
The apartment is located just steps from Washington Square Park, the West Village, SoHo, many restaurants, bars, and shopping. There aren't enough hours in the day to explore all that NYC's most charming neighborhood has to offer. Nearby subways include the B/D/F/M and the A/C/E.
We were so impressed by this elegant , stylish , immaculate and extremely comfortable apartment . Christine has thought of everything to make our time in the apartment so pleasant ,with brilliant cooking and dining facilities, washing machine and tumble dryer, even a collection of dvds , and very comfortable sofas , in such a bright sunny living area .
The bedrooms are gorgeous, and the beds were sink into , with great big extra cushions , all very luxurious . Even had a great shower, with lovely smelling soaps provided.
The studio room incidentally, is almost as big as the rest of apartment, which is so very spacious anyway, and from this room you can look out, through the old fire escape, to trees , and the red brick backs of other old New York buildings . We loved it all, it certainly felt very classy, in trendy Greenwich Village.
As well as being such a great apartment to spend time in , it is also really well located, near to several subway stations, and a couple of minutes from Washington Square . Chelsea and Soho , are very easy to walk to, as well as Union Square , where there is a weekly Green Market and a great Wholefoods Supermarket .
We went to NY with our two daughters ,12 and13, and it was an ideal space for a family . One daughter was unwell while we were in NY, and the fact that the apartment was so exceptional, made such a difference to our stay, as we had to spend a lot of time there . Added to this Christine was extremely helpful re. local medical services .
We will certainly want to book the apartment again , when we next return to New York.
First time in NY and friends told us to stay in Greenwich Village. We stayed here for over a week. It was a dream! Well worth the money. Everything is walking distance. It's a fair walk from Mid-town and away from all the madness, noise and tourism bling bling, which we found a good thing. Its so close to Washington Square (our favourite place).
Apartment was spacious, spotless and clean. Kitchen was well stocked for home cooking. Laundry was well stocked with clean sheets, linen and washing powder etc.
The only thing, and I say this loosely is that the apartment is up two flights of stairs so its not recommended for older people who have heavy luggage. There is no lift in the building.
Overall, it's in a quiet location, but close to grocery stores, bars, restaurants etc. Excellent coffee shop across the street and about 15mins walk to the greatest coolest fashion stores!
Love this apartment!!
Will definitely stay here again.
We cannot recommend this apartment highly enough - It is fabulous in every way.
Taking up the whole second floor it’s so spacious with two huge comfortable living areas. It is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean with comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, and everything you could possibly need. Fantastic location in Greenwich Village, teeming with restaurants, bars and shops, and if you're a tourist, a Hop on/ Hop off Bus Stop right in the street. With no high-rise and not nearly as much noise as Midtown, it’s still full of life and close to everything. After a full day/night on the streets of New York it is the perfect place to come home to and relax.
In Christine’s absence Beanie welcomed us warmly and gave some good tips about the apartment and the neighbourhood. Her best advice was a local Gourmet Market called Citarella, just around the corner. Absolutely fabulous it has everything and we visited it frequently.
All in all it is the perfect apartment and we will, without a doubt, be staying there if we return to New York. Can we give it a 6 out of 5?!
I really don't have much to add to the other reviews that have already been posted. I would agree with those 5 star reviews 100%. Having lived in NYC for 5 years I can definitely say that this was a top tier apartment in a top tier location. The pictures are 100% accurate, but really do not properly communicate just how much space this apartment offers. The bedrooms are a great side, but the studio space in the back of the apartment is really big and spacious. The living room, dining room, kitchen area is also very spacious and feels even more so by the high ceilings throughout the apartment.
Christine was very helpful in giving a few recommendations of restaurants in the neighborhood and in getting us settled into the apartment. We ate at the Burger Joint down the street, and at Otto where I ordered the best ravioli I have ever had.
All in all, I believe that this apartment offers an extremely good value in NYC if you need more than 1 bedroom. Even if you don't need more than 1 bedroom it would still be a great place to stay because of its location and the high quality of the apartment. I look forward to the next trip where we can rent the apartment again!
Five of us came here -- ~70 grandmother, parents, and two teens for a week in the City. What a score! The place is beautifully decorated and HUGE. Spotlessly clean and TWO FULL bathrooms - including a tub! Just a couple of blocks from the major subway lines, we had easy access to the trains. The street was active and charming without being loud or noisy. We enjoyed the 8th Street Fair just outside our door and the Hare Krishna Festival in nearby Washington Park. Neighborhood restaurants (with wine specials!) made dinner easy and enjoyable. (Highly recommend Lena bakery just down the street for breakfast pastries.) When we were in the apartment, we had plenty of space to be together without being on top of one another. Wish we could buy it and move in!
What a lovely apartment - we want to kidnap the cleaners and bring them back to Australia with us. The place was spotless - coming from a clean freak !!! We were 2 adults and 2 teenagers which means space and separate bathrooms was a must and this apartment delivered. Also in a great spot - metro close by, heaps of restaurants and bars which we loved. Area felt very safe. If I have to point out a negative - it will have to be dragging the suitcases two floor up but you only do it once, and the man upstairs - you can hear every single footstep. We will definitely stay here again.
Our building is located in the heart of historic Greenwich Village, one of the best bases from which to explore all of New York City. The neighborhood is filled with fantastic restaurants, charming coffee houses, and tons of bars and lounges to suit any mood. From thrift shops to designers like Marc Jacobs; from corner convenience stores to gourmet supermarkets; Greenwich Village really does have it all! Three subway lines are all within a short walking distance and can take you to almost any neighborhood in Manhattan. The New Museum in SoHo, the galleries in Chelsea, and tons of Off-Broadway theaters all are a short walk away.
