One Sunday in Sullivan Park is a great experience. You can admire paintings and have a relaxing talk with the artists. After you walk a few meters to the market with all kinds of fruits and vegetables.
You can walk to the condo, only 4 blocks.
Another interesting day is in TLALTELOLCO, aztec ruins in the heart of Mexico City. You take a taxi there.
Archaeology:
In the middle of the city and only 20 minutes from the condo, you have impressive archeological sites like Tlatelolco, and Templo Mayor ruins (next to the cathedral). Evidence of the great Aztec culture which existed here when the Spaniards or conquistadores arrived in 1519.
Cuicuilco is in the south side...so when you visit the Unam (Mexican university) you can visit this site. Teotihuacan is 30 kms. north. Tula with the Toltec civilization is 50 kms. from the condo. Xochicalco is going south... Not far from Cuernavaca. Visit the 'Museo de Antropologia' in Chapultepec to have an introduction to the prehispanic civilizations not only around Mexico City but all over the country. You can actually walk to the museum from our condo.
The weather is fantastic all year around. It rains at night in june and july months. The best time absolutely is march and april. The fall is superb.
Public transportation is good and extremely cheap. To San Miguel Allende, Puebla, Queretaro very confortable buses.
If you are a senior citizen, perhaps half price like the Mexican Citizens.
You need to see Mexico city and Musems to understand the rest of the cultures in the whole nation.
