We (Tom & Nancy) both grew up in this area and anybody that has ever been here definitely agrees with us that we are from a bit of paradise with diamond sparkling waters and beautiful miles of gorgeous trees with much to offer in tourism for the summer lover or the winter lover. You can count on making many wonderful memories in this awesome setting and in the surrounding area. In dealing with us we find that we are honest, considerate, and fair people and are hoping for you to have the best time ever while you stay.

The Owner purchased this house in 2001

We know from growing up here what an absolutely beautiful 4 season area that we have been blessed with and enjoyed in our lives and the benefit of staying at this house is that we know the area so well that we can assist you with our knowledge so you can have many enjoyable experiences just as we have through the years...

There are near by places that rent pontoon boats and other faster speed boats of skiers and wake boarders.

The most beautiful thing is to see the wild life right outside the window (eagles, other birds of all sorts, deer and we have seen bear, fox and raccoons). The beautiful lake that this house is on is breathtaking and you can travel to 4 other lakes by being on this one. For the avid fisherman there are awesome different types of fish in the lake (lakes). In the winter months, the snowmobile trail can be got onto right from the house with many neat locations to stop at for warming and food & drink.

AMAZING PLACE

  • 5 of 5
We recently rented on Chain lake , what a great experience. Coming from Texas and only seeing the place via photos it can be scary renting and placing your trust(and all your vacation time) in complete strangers. However from the moment we arrived it was fabulous. The house is so clean and tidy its better than mine at home.
Even with a few chilly, rainy days we were able to leave counting the days until we could return again. We canoed and used paddle boards a lot, the lake is so peaceful for that. We rented a pontoon boat and explored the chain. Lots of fishing with some good days and others not so great. But that's how fishing goes and that is the fun of it.
Having three kids (two of which are teen girls) a house in the deep woods away from wifi may be daunting.... it was incredible.
We ventured out a little exploring the restaurants and fun shops in Eagle River and even attended the street dance :)
Over all I would highly recommend this little gem of a place.
Thank you for a memorable vacation. Hope to see you again.

KAYAKER

  • 4 of 5
Loved our stay at this clean cozy feeling but large home. Lots of space for all. The photos of property are very accurate. The lakes were so much fun to kayak, very interesting. Loved going through the channels with the kayaks. Deer playing in the water, eagles, otters but did not catch many fish. The guys had fun trying though. The swimming was too weedy for me but it was too cold to swim anyway. Used the fire pit a lot to stay warm and just relax by. Was so nice to sit by the lake with a glass of wine. Host Nancy is very accommodating and friendly. Came home very relaxed. Would love to come back next year or maybe even this fall for the colors. Do not hesitate to rent this place. Nancy does some very nice touches to make your stay special.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you had the chance to see deer, otter, eagles and the way to get into it all is the Kayaking way. It was quite odd to have the weather change so drastically for your week. It was not a real swimming week but most who stay there swim, tube, ski and fish and your group was the first in 4 years that came to mostly kayak and you taught me a few history lessons about the Chain of Lakes on your kayak adventures. We do get weeds out in the deep but most lakes have that but this seems to be a well balanced lake for all events and yet God is still being able to feed the fish by supplying food in the deeper areas of the lake. We do hope you do come back to enjoy colorama. It sure is a beautiful time of year in this area. Happy Vacationing !

GREAT PLACE

  • 5 of 5
Just a great place and a week we look forward to returning every year. We've rented three times and every experience has been top notch. The house is always sparkling clean, the grounds are well maintained and the owners are more than accomodating. Enough room to spread out if needed, or spend time as a family together.

You want fishing? It's got it! Terrific crappie lake with a lot of bluegill, perch northern & bass (I just can't seem to find the walleye dang it!).

You want relaxing? It's got it. You can lounge on the porch overlooking the lake or relax on a chair under a tree with a book, listening to the waves ripple and the wind whispering in the pine, maple and birch trees. A small sandy beach area near the pier is a perfect play area for the little ones (or the big ones....I like floating on my back in the water, soaking up the sun).

You want to explore? Five awesome lakes on this chain and many times, yours is the only boat on the water. Canoe with paddles, row boat with oars, or rent a book on the 28 lake EagleRiver/Three Lakes chain. Or drive 10 miles to Eagle River - or 8 Miles to St. Germain, or 15 miles to Three Lakes to shop, eat out, or do whatever. Also some beautiful drives....Hwy K to Boulder Junction in autumn is spectacular!

You want to cook? Dependable Weber gas grill on the porch and well appointed kitchen made eating in more fun than eating out.

You want some space to call your own? Four bedrooms, two living rooms (each with a TV) one dining room and a large deck are all places to find your own solitude, not withstanding the double lot and large pier.

My favorite memories:

- Quality time in the boat, teaching my kids to fish. My son (15) literally catches 50-100 fish each trip
- Sipping wine on the porch before dinner, chatting with my bride and watching the sun set
- S'mores around the large fire pit at dusk, watching the lake and woods descend into night
- Two loons haunting calls to each other, echoing across the misty lake. Is there a more lonesome, eerie and haunting sound in the world?
- Satellites & shooting stars, racing across a velvet black canvas painted by the Milky Way

Thank you Tom & Nancy for letting my family share your little slice of paradise. I feel very blessed to be here and to have met you both. Thank you for being such terrific hosts.

God Bless.

BEAUTIFUL AREA, LOVELY HOUSE AND LAKE

  • 5 of 5
Lovely property, overlooking the lake, feels very private even though there are neighbors on both sides. The house is very comfortable and the location is great for exploring the area. Spent the week lounging on the lake, reading, canoeing, trying to make the row boat row...and rented a stand up paddle board (from Wildwood Outdoor Adventures) and paddled all around the lake, barbecued every night and enjoyed the fire pit and smores..also did some beautiful hikes in the Eagle River and St. Germaine area. This house and the surrounding area has something for everyone. Weather was perfect. The owners are very accommodating. For dinner out, try the Wicked Grill in Eagle River, you won't be disappointed and for those interested in movies there is a red box at the grocery store Trig's in Eagle River.

Owner's Response: We are so happy that you took it all in with the house and it's surroundings and the surrounding area as well. I think I want to join you guys on vacation next year. Ha! Ha! It is nice to pick up a movie at the Red Box at Trig's grocery to wind-down from an eventful, fun filled day and the Eagle River Walgreens also has a Red Box there. You guys also did my favorite event which is sitting around the campfire and enjoying a smore. Thanks for staying and we hope to see you again. Happy Vacationing!
