Beautiful property in upstate NY

  • 5 of 5

Gianni and his wife are wonderful hosts and have a great house in upstate New York. We were two couples looking to get away from the city and had a wonderfully relaxing weekend at their home. The house is great especially if you are a couple traveling alone or with kids (the downstairs room has twin beds).

The property is breathtaking and there are two lovely ponds that you can swim in. The water is cold but very refreshing on a summer day. Even if you don't swim, it's nice to bring a blanket and sit by the water. The firepit may be one of the best features. We sat for hours in the evening by the fire.

If you're interested in wood, Gianni can tell you about the diverse range of trees on his property as well as teach you about some of the gorgeous wood he's harvested. This was a part of the trip we found very enjoyable.

Our only two issues during the trip were that the grill stopped working and also that the bottle opener in the house was worn out and didn't work very well. I believe Gianni was planning to get a new grill, but I would suggest bringing your own wine opener if they don't have a new one:)

While in town, I'd recommend checking if there is a local auction happening. We attended an auction which was a fun experience for all and a great place to find amazing deals (if you have the time and patience!).

Fantastic summer vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic weeks vacation and highly recommend this rental house. The property is very secluded but easily accessible. The house was clean and comfortable, with everything you would need(except food of course), huge windows and a porch allow for a beautiful view of the side of the mountain and wildlife. A back patio provided shade on sunny days, in the front is a great fire pit for roasting s'mores which we did almost every night! The first floor(finished basement) stayed cool on warm days/nights and was our son's and dog's favorite place to sleep. Each floor has it's own bathroom. We enjoyed our hikes through acres of forest on logging roads, and watching the World Cup in the comfortable living room. The absolute best thing was swimming in the spring fed pond with our retriever! The water was clean and cool and only a few minutes walk from the house. There is a great Italian restaurant in Roscoe(about 10 minutes away) and a farmers market every Sunday morning. We enjoyed meeting the owners of the rental who are lovely people. A great place to relax, read a book, and enjoy nature!

Wonderful house & surrounding property.

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a couple days here on a fishing weekend. This house is a terrific escape located at the end of rural road but still close enough to Roscoe. The structure itself has a terrific great room (neat beam/rope construction) with a nice view. The house was super clean, well maintained and as described. The owners are so sweet and were really glad we go to meet them. We enjoyed grilling our dinner and relaxing by the fire pit. We'd definitely go back!

Perfect getaway! Highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 3 boys and I spent a long weekend here in the fall. We wanted a secluded home where we could relax and enjoy the foliage. This house was PERFECT! There are hiking trails and a lake right up the road on the property. We grilled pretty much every meal (and s'mores for dessert) in the fire pit and on the grill. The view from the house was beautiful and the house itself was clean, well-organized and looked exactly like the pictures. The kids also enjoyed the cable tv. We went to the farmer's market in town on Sunday and there is a decent grocery store about 20 minutes away. The owners are extremely nice and thoughtful. It was the perfect family getaway!

Had a wonderful time

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our two grandchildren and dog. The home is lovely and very clean, the description is very accurate. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The kids especially loved the fire pit for making smores. We were even able to add an extra day to our stay. Would highly recommend. . The owners are a very lovely couple. A&B from Pa

What a wonderful weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from a weekend away with the kids and my parents and I just had to write a review. We had such a great time, we wish we could have stayed longer. The house is so clean and well-cared for. It is very spacious, we had four adults, two kids and a dog and had plenty of room. The property is so open, kids and the dog had so much room to run around and explore. The fire pit was set away from the house and was perfect. The kids had such a fantastic time fishing in the pond, they caught so many sunnies and little bass. The owners put a lot of love into the house and property and it shows, they are such a nice couple. We are definitely going back next year!
