We all fish (even my wife sometimes), but just hanging out at the cabin is an enjoyable place to relax. Walking around the area you will see the resident deer. The kids feel a sense of freedom while playing and discovering...we love this place....

We found this cabin to be comfortable, clean and well organized. Though chilly on arrival, the marvelous pellet stove heated up the place very quickly. High marks for value and above all location right on the
River! Also, wonderful for our dog - dog run on the property.

Me and my family stayed at the cabin for 4 days and loved every min. of it. It is a great cabin for the family, everyone can find something to do. We have two young sons and they both had a blast got to fish got to play in the water and got to see deer right in the back yard off the deck. Fishing was good not great as the steelhead and salmon haven't started there run yet but the we did catch fish(well all but the oldest son haha) and that's what I was going for! Tons of fishing access all around not just on the property. The cabin and the property was very well maintained and taken care of. The owners where a dream to work with... I have rented many places all over the world and they where truly one of the easiest to work with! Def. plan to stay here again! Had a blast...

We loved the cabin it was very clean and welcoming. It was a wonderful place to relax. I was expecting the cabin to be more secluded based on the photos, anyhow there was plenty of privacy, and I am grateful to Jill and Henrik. I would definately recommend the cabin.

Awesome Time at Fishtale Retreat

We had a great time on our vacation! The cabin was really nice and was perfect for what we had planned; paddling, bicycling, and relaxing. The views of the river from the cabin were amazing. We loved waking up in the morning to the sounds of the river and the first thing we would see when we looked out the bedroom window was the beautiful Trinity. We saw deer eating on the neighbors lawn almost every day and there was a flock of geese that would visit the cabins' front lawn daily as well. River access was easy. We were able to walk our kayak from the cabin to the bank with ease and launch it with no problems. We paddled all the way to the Indian Creek Lodge. It was the most fun we've had paddling yet! The kitchen was well equipped. We cooked almost every meal at the cabin during our weeks' stay. We ate dinner at the Mountain Valley Grill once. The Mountain Valley Grill is in the town of Lewiston; right down the road from the Plug N Jug. I would recommend trying it. It was really good food for a good price. They made a great blackberry and peach pie. My husband and I agreed it was the best pie we ever ate. I would also recommend visiting the One Maple Winery. We were able to ride our bikes there from the cabin. The owners are extremely friendly, the wine is delicious, and the place is beautiful! We ended up going twice and bringing a bottle of Summer Chardonnay home with us. There was also plenty of time spent just relaxing at the cabin which was also nice. It was actually pretty hot when we were there but the cabin stayed nice and cool if you turned the cooler on low during the middle of the day. The deck chairs were great for watching the fish jump out of the water in the evening. Make sure and wear bug spray! I made the mistake of not doing so the first night and woke up with over 10 mosquito bites the next morning. However, this was the worst part of the trip so I can't complain too much. The cabin is also dog friendly which is awesome because we can't go on vacation without our loyal K9 companion of 15 years. All in all we had a great time and would highly recommend staying at Fishtale retreat if you are ever wanting to stay along the Trinity River.

Super cute cabin on Trinity River. My husband and I spent our 33rd anniversary here and had a great relaxing time. We actually caught fish at the lake, fly fishing. Would recommend to my friends and family.
