The cottage is located in Bridgton, ME. The general area is known as the Lakes Region. It is situated about 100 yards from Highland Lake. The road to the cottage is private, has very limited traffic and safe for young children. There is 180 feet of lake frontage, a large dock, sandy swimming area, separate dock for a boat, a swim float, large grass area for sports. The lake is great for boating, canoeing, swimming and fishing. The town stocks the lake with brown trout. There are also large and small mouth bass. Close by is a golf course and driving range. Hiking and mountain climbing are close by. Winter sports include down hill skiing at Shawnee Peak and cross country skiing and snow shoeing at Five Fields Farm. Bridgton, ME is also known for its antique shops. It is a short walk or ride to downtown shopping. Bargain hunters enjoy Outlet shopping 1/2 hour away in North Conway, NH and one hour away in Freeport, ME.
