Enjoy a getaway with family or friends on beautiful Locke Lake! This waterfront home has 3 bedrooms which sleeps 8 (but can accommodate additional children with an inflatable mattress), 2 full baths, full sized kitchen with new appliances, comfortable livingroom with satellite TV and a walkout basement with an air hockey table. There is a sandy play area for the kids out back and the sandy bottomed lake is perfect for children. Explore the lake with the 5-person paddle boat, 2 person kayak or canoe provided free of charge to enjoy during your stay or bring your fishing poles and fish right from the dock.

If you want a change from lake swimming, passes are provided for you to use the

2 life-guarded pools, tennis courts and 9-hole golf course.

This property is located in the Locke Lake Colony on beautiful Locke Lake in the town of Barnstead. It's the perfect spot for a family vacation, a romantic getaway for two, a fishing trip, snowmobiling or just to get away with some friends for the weekend. Locke Lake Colony is a year round community where homes surround the tranquil waters of Locke Lake and Half Moon Lake. The owners have a canoe at the property for their guests to use to enjoy the lake.

The town of Barnstead is situated just south of the lakes region in New Hampshire and is immediately surrounded by the towns of Gilmanton, Alton, Strafford, and Pittsfield with easy access to Laconia, Rochester and Portsmouth. The city of Concord is less than an hour’s drive away as are the recreational areas of the White Mountains, Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, the Hampton seacoast and Maine’s tourist areas. Gunstock Ski Resort is a mere 20 minute drive from the property.

Locke Lake offers 160 acres of fun including swimming, fishing, and boating. The main beach is just minutes away complete with an in-ground swimming pool, a playground for the kids, and tables under a pavilion for a picnic. Bring your boat, canoe, or kayak to enjoy on this private lake. Locke Lake offers an additional in-ground swimming pool, a six-hole golf course, and tennis courts.

In addition to the amenities Locke Lake offers, there are many activities for your enjoyment. For a romantic dinner for two, the nearby Crystal Quail Restaurant offers a unique 6-course meal in an intimate setting. Take a cruise aboard the Mount Washington on Lake Winnipesaukee from nearby Alton Bay or car racing at the New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon. For the adventurous, take a day trip to the White Mountains, or the rocky coastline of Maine, or to the heart of downtown Boston or enjoy breathtaking fall foliage as you drive through the New Hampshire countryside.

We had a great time at the house. Unfortunately it rained 4 days but we still had plenty to do. The house was clean and neat. Thank you for a great time!

Well Kept Rental!!!

Rented weekend of September 19th 2009. The cottage was perfectly situated for what we were looking for. Two rooms upstairs, one downstairs and a pull-out couch. Would return to this cottage, the only negative would be the tv needs to be updated.

End of Summer Get a Way to Barnstead

I recently returned from a vacation at this property. This is the absolute vacation for those who wish to get a way from it all. Wendy the realtor is excellent, and Denise and Chris, the owners were marvolous! The house is large, clean and spacious. Very well decorated, comforatable and a very good value. The private beach is much larger than portrayed in the pictures. This house has everything one should need from Private beach, paddle boats, canoe, air hockey, golf, fire pit, kids games, grill, etc.. The people around the area are also very friendly. I loved how I took the paddle boat across the lake to take my family smimming in the associations sparkling clean inground pools!!!

If you are looking to get a way.... I mean really get a way from the hectic day to day of normal life this is the place to visit. I look forward to a visit next year!
