A Wonderful Time

  • 4 of 5

My wife, daughter and I recently hosted some of her cousins and siblings visiting from Japan. They wanted to visit Sonoma for the weekend, and we thought the best option would be to look into renting a house for that time. We were nine in all (5 adults, 4 kids), and happened upon this very interesting, and seemingly appropriate listing, located very much in an area we would like to be (we had very specific destinations in the wine country). I was particularly intrigued by the fact that the home was a geodesic dome. Needless to say, we were all very pleased with our choice. The house itself was indeed very interesting in design, and its layout promoted social interactivity. More importantly, it was very comfortable. I think our relatives from Japan, especially the kids, were very impressed with the space and design (such a house would generally be unheard of in Japan). The kids enjoyed the play area, and the common intrusion of local deer very much. Overall, I think it is an experience they wont forget. I should emphasize that the weather did not cooperate at all during our stay, which made the fact that we had an enjoyable and comfortable space to call our own for our brief stay even more satisfactory, which I am sure was far superior to any hotel choice we might have made.

Everyone left very pleased at the experience, and that is more than we could ask given the bad weather. We thank our hosts very much for the opportunity to stay in their wonderful house, and certainly would not hesitate to stay there in the future.

Owner's Response: Wow, you are so gracious. We very much enjoyed having you. Of course, since the property is designed for the kids to enjoy the out doors, we do hope to see you return under better weather conditions. Thank you for your review, Doug & Lynetta

Fun, clean, accommodating, kid-friendly home!

  • 5 of 5

This home was very clean and so well equipped for our stay with our large family. Everything we needed was at our disposal--including sleeping bags for extra little ones. The yard was fabulous and so much fun for our grandchildren! The owners were SO nice. They went above and beyond to help with whatever we needed. We'd stay there again if we come come back!

Our daughter's wedding was at The Depot and it was beautiful with very good food. We also ate at the Black Bear Diner for a great breakfast.

What a beautiful home! It fit our needs perfectly! Four great bedrooms and a perfectly stocked kitchen for great family cooking! The owners were amazingly responsive to any of my questions. I would highly recommend the property to others! Our grandson loved Train Town in Sonoma!

Great house

  • 5 of 5

The house was fantastic for our family. Four couples and 3 kids were comfortable and we had lots of fun with the playground. Great location near Sonoma Square and also near lots of wineries. Highly recommended. Excellent views, especially early in the morning and at sunset. Very private.

Family Friendly Wine Country Visit

  • 4 of 5

Our family rented this VRBO property for a week to celebrate the holidays. It was spacious, clean, and well furnished for our family of six adults and one baby. The location of the bedrooms allowed each couple their own space with the common spaces comfortably seating us for time together. We were able to gather around the dining room table and enjoy a meal we had cooked or share the delightful entrees from El Molino Central just down the street. The centralized location allowed us to visit wineries, breweries, and eateries in Sonoma, Russian River, and Napa. We enjoyed a special meal at The Girl and the Fig. The owner responded to my questions and requests almost spontaneously.

A wonderful experience from start to end

  • 5 of 5

The owners of this incredible home were so thoughtful and pleasant from the very initial booking all throughout our stay. Everything about our stay was fantastic but our experience with the owners is really what puts this location over the top. They were always very responsive in the lead-up to the rental as well as laid back and generous in their approach with us.

The morning of our party I received a call making sure we were all fine in our preparations because it had rained heavily during the night and morning. I was offered whatever they had to make everything go off as planned. The weather didn't end up impacting what turned out to be a great time, but their concern was extremely touching.

The following day we spoke again and all the owners cared about was that we all enjoyed ourselves. I would stay here again and definitely recommend the location to anyone searching for breathtaking views and an environment you just can't find anywhere else--every guest commented on how great the house and the view were. We also had a number of small children at the party and the house and property were a huge hit. There is a fantastic playground and two large trampolines which the kids loved.

As great as it is during the day, the morning view of Sonoma nestled in a layer of fog is worth the price, alone.

I could go on and on--the location was fantastic and only outdone by the wonderful owners.
