I was born and raised in Michigan and moved to the west coast in 2004- first Seattle and now in California. I still miss many things about Michigan and the mid-west; my friends and family of course, snow, and summers on the lakes. I love coming back to visit a couple times a year and making the trek to Charlevoix.
Like many other Michiganders, I too made the frequent pilgrimage 'up north' on the weekends. Charlevoix was always my favorite spot- surrounded by lakes big and small, a great collection of intimate restaurants, fabulous summer festivals, and all with a small-town feel. When I decided to buy a vacation/rental property, there was no question that it would be in Charlevoix!
I love the proximity that Charlevoix has to all that northern Michigan has to offer: water sports, island trips, the wineries of northwestern Michigan, golf, biking, need I go on? I start looking forward to dinner at Terry's in downtown Charlevoix months before my visit! Be sure to order the Walleye!
