We looked too and fro for the best overall vacation package deal in the greater Asheville, NC area. We believe we found it!
Initially, we planned to stay for a full week, but half way through, opted to extend our visit for a total of nine days.
This house is right on the French Broad River surrounded by mountains to the north, south, east, and west! Being a Floridian and a military member stationed in Virginia Beach area, we were entranced by the natural beauty here. We felt far away enough from civilization to experience noise-free living, but close enough to grab a coffee in the morning.
Due to no fault of the owners, we experienced a hiccup at the outset of our stay. What impressed us, was the owner and his wife’s over-the-top way of handling that hiccup. Face it, we all experience unanticipated issues in life, whether at home or on vacation. How quickly, and exceedingly abundantly the owners met our needs is highly commendable.
If you have a motorcycle, PLEASE bring it! You will actually get to the point of saying to yourself, Please---no more curves! Beautiful roads are prevalent all over the place! Even getting to the house was incredibly picturesque!
Our family purposely did not bring anything that is normal habit for us at home. We wanted to experience a “difference” from our home environment. This home did just that! There’s a litany of family games to enjoy (our personal favorite is the full-size ping-pong table). Other amenities we used quite a bit were satellite TV, large patio & grill and wireless Internet. There’s plenty of parking, reasonable seclusion, and more than enough beds in this house!
Was it good enough for us??? Good enough for us to come again!
