About Kory Lovre
I am the great grandson of the original builders of this house. They emigrated from Norway in the late 1800's and settled on Vashon Island. There were two brothers, both lumbermen, and they build this house and the neighboring house up the driveway.
Kory Lovre purchased this farmhouse in 1889
Why Kory Lovre chose Vashon Island
Enjoy the two Redwood trees my grandma and grandpa planted in the 40's. Enjoy the hugh Maple tree planted by their parents back in the 1800s.
What makes this farmhouse unique
Since this house was built in 1889 you get to stay in a piece of Vashon history. You can sit in the white rocking chair on the front porch of the house and enjoy watching the birds come to feed. If you come in May you can see the many Rhodedendrons in bloom too. Since the house is older it won't be quite in perfect condition and you may get that older house musky smell at times. As well, since their are 5 acres the entire 5 acres is not maintained in perfect condition (the field is only mowed once a year but I try to keep a trail mowed in it for walks out back).
