Duck Creek Retreat occupies one of the most unique locations in the U.S. Its 11.735 acres are bordered by Yellowstone National Park on its east side, by Gallatin National Forest on its south side, and by a private, 30 plus acre pond filled by Duck Creek, a spring fed, blue ribbon trout stream originating in Yellowstone, on its north and west sides. Both Yellowstone Park and Gallatin National Forest are immediately accessible from the property.

This home offers breathtaking views of nature at its finest. This is the ultimate family retreat! Lots of room both inside and outside the home, with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms in a beautifully appointed yet rustic log and wood home. There is a large, fully equipped kitchen with two full sized refrigerators, an upright freezer, and a walk-in pantry available for stocking up for those big meals!

The living room and den offer plenty of seating, a wood stove and fireplace, and incredible views. Nothing like having dinner, either inside or out on the deck, while the sun sets over the Duck Creek Pond and the Madison mountain range. It doesn't get any better!

Wildlife Viewing: Duck Creek Retreat and the immediate surrounding area is rich in wildlife, including bison, elk, deer, moose, grizzly bear, black bear, otter, beaver, muskrat, Canadian geese, ducks, trumpeter swan and sandhill cranes.

Fishing: World class fishing is available on private Duck Creek Pond. A professionally installed fish ladder permits runs of wild brown and rainbow trout from the Madison River and nearby Hebgen Lake. Native brook trout also habitate the Pond and brown trout up to 32 inches have been caught and released. A Montana fishing license is not required to fish on the Pond, but it is on other Montana waters. A Yellowstone Park license is required to fish inside the Park

The home is only 8 miles from the resort town of West Yellowstone, MT, the road entrance to Yellowstone National Park that offers the easiest access to all that the Park has to offer.

Five miles away is the West Yellowstone airport (KWYS), which has a FBO for any size corporate jet and is serviced by SkyWest/Delta Connection. Air Force One has landed there many times. Only 8 miles away is the resort town of West Yellowstone, MT, the most centrally located entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

Other Activities: Golfing and downhill skiing at Big Sky Ski and Summer Resort is 35 miles north from Duck Creek Retreat, Golfing in Island Park, ID is only 35 miles south, and some of the best groomed Nordic ski trails in the world are only 9 miles away on the Rendezvous trails in West Yellowstone. Groomed snowmobile trail access is within a 1/2 mile of the home, beautiful Hebgen Lake is only a few short miles away... It's in an adventurer's wonderland!

Great Winter Vacation Home!!!!

My family just loved the stay we had at Duck Creek Retreat. There was 7 adults and 2 children. Our stay was 22-29 Dec 2010. The bedrooms were very comfortable and plenty of bathrooms to go around. The warm cozy fireplace and baseboard heaters made for some wonderful family get together's in the main dining area and adjacent living room. The views from the full windows out across the pond were great. Hugh kitchen cooking areas provided by the Jenn-Air cook/grill tops and double ovens. We would have liked to had use of the double car garage since nightly snow fall led to window cleaning each morning. A great family stay and would definitely recommend to others.

Our group of 12, which included 5 couples and 2 children found this home very comfortable with plenty of space for privacy. The flow of the house is a little unusual, so we had to assign bathrooms as only one bedroom had a private bathroom. We had a wonderful time here and would rent this house again, if the opportunity arose. The location was ideal.

My family & I stayed @ the Duck Creek Retreat for a week in early June. It was FABULOUS. We had 7 adults & 7 kids. The house was perfect for all of us. We saw plenty of wildlife right in the backyard! We had plenty of room to spread out, too. the kitchen is perfect, not to mention the wonderful outside deck & pier. Lots of couches in the 2 sitting areas, WiFi, plenty of bathrooms, & a really nice stove,.... There is a caretaker that lives in the house behind the main house. He was there if we needed help or had a question, but we never saw him other than that. We had a wonderful time & wouldn't stay anywhere else if we had the opportunity to go again. I highly recommend it!
