The living room, furnished with the comfortable elegance of 1920's period antiques, features a third fireplace and a large flat screen TV with cable & DVD. There are ceiling fans, beautiful antique chandeliers, and restored heart-of-pine wood floors throughout. Green Gables is CLOSE TO EVERYTHING – so take a break from sightseeing or shopping to relax on the huge wrap around porch. Sit in the romantic swing that overlooks the gardens or dine al fresco, and watch the dozens of birds that frequent the bird feeders all day long. The porch is the place to gather on balmy summer evenings to watch the moon rise and to soak up the relaxing, candlelight atmosphere.

My daughter and I recently spent 3 nights at this lovely home away from home. We were greeted upon our arrival by the owner who is a charming person. As we entered this home it was everything we could imagine; beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials and plenty of food for a continental breakfast. The hugh lovely wrap around porch with it's swing, chairs, candles, etc. was always a welcome sight after a long day of shopping and site seeing, Green Gables was close to everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend this to anyone.

Beautiful and a great location! The home is very cofortable and clean. We loved the wrap-around porch. The kitchen was very nicely furnished.

My husband, sister-in-law and I spent three nights at Green Gables and were only sorry that we couldn't stay longer! The house is beautiful and the on-site owner helpful and unobtrusive. The kitchen was well-stocked and we could easily have eaten meals in, but then we would have missed trying Asheville's wonderful restaurants! It was a delightful quick visit that I hope to do again soon.
