Sanderlin Mountain Top Area:
The highest Peak in Big Canoe, this mountain top has a road that circles the entire peak, and is easy to walk/stroll along. You will see tame wildlife along the way, and the views can not be beat. This close knit community will welcome you in for your stay, with a wave and talk along the way. This mountain road to reach The Sky Box is wide and easy to drive, with only a few turns.
HIking / Walking Trails:
There are numerous hiking/walking trails throughout Big Canoe. There is a detailed map, showing the beginning and ending points. One trail leads over and around the main creek to the lower falls area, then to the upper falls. This trail offers a little history along the way, showing a log house that the original settlers built in the 1800's. An additional trail near the main gate offers a botanical gardens area (in season), with an additional log home and historical markings along the way. This trail leads under the Big Canoe covered bridge and along another main creek basin area. Additional walking trails offer paved and crushed gravel paths for small children or strollers to easily maneuver.
