About Jorge Martinez

Born in Havana-Cuba moving to the USA in 1969. Grew up mostly in the South Bay of Los Angeles County graduating from Mira Costa High School in 1975. Have lived in Manhattan Beach, Torrance, Long Beach, Bakersfield, and now Palm Springs. Hospitality has been my carrier since my first job just out of high school. Now enjoying life to the fullest and sharing a piece of Paradise with my guests.

Why Jorge Martinez chose Palm Springs

Being in the Hospitality Industry all my life I long dreamed of owning my own business where I could provide deluxe, comfortable, and personable but yet private accommodations for travelers from all parts of the world. Since the late 1970’s I often vacationed in Palm Springs where I always enjoyed the warm sunny weather and relaxing resort style atmosphere this wonderful town has to offer. The Mid-Century Modern architecture, majestic mountains surrounding the valley and historic Hollywood movie star flair are but a few features that makes Palm Springs like no other location in the world.

When it came time to choose the destination for my dream I considered other locations like Hawaii and Key West, but the charm and location of this amazing desert city far outweighed any others I could have chosen. So, in 1996 I made the best decision I ever made in my life and chose Palm Springs to live out my dream. Since then my experience here has surpass my expectations and every day that goes by I continue to find new exiting things to see and do, and what a great feeling it is to share that with my guests!

The central location of this property is one of the unique benefits you will enjoy with the ability to walk downtown for shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and the active night life that makes Palm Springs one of the most desired vacation destinations in the world. Built in the late 1950’s a recent renovation has incorporated modern touches with the Mid-Century Modern architecture that was original to the building resulting in a mix between history and today’s comfort necessities.

This was our first trip to Palm Springs and we found the property to be exactly as described on-line. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the pool every day. We also found the location perfect for getting around. Jorge was a charming and helpful host.
We felt there were a few things which would have elevated the comfort level of the apartment. Better curtains in the bedroom (We have blackout drapes at home) would have aided sleep. A higher quality Chet's knife and paring knife would improve the food prep side of things. Lastly, although it's out of keeping with the decor, a dish washer would have been nice. We get used to these kinds of luxuries.
That said, we would happily stay again and will recommend the property to any friends who plan to visit P.S.

Fantastic base in Palm Springs

We just spent a week at this property and were very pleased. We used it as base for doing many hikes and activities in and around Palm Springs. A lovely, comfortable, conveniently-located and clean apartment that was perfect for my husband and I. An easy walk to downtown Palm Springs restaurants and shopping, although we preferred to eat in (all cooking utensils, etc. are supplied). Fifteen minutes to walk to a very good yoga studio if you're into that. Jorge, who manages the property, was available and always helpful. Highly recommended.

Sweet, quiet haven...

We really enjoyed our five days at this property--it's very quiet and clean. The owner accommodated us with an extra bed in the living room. It's a longish walk downtown (about a mile), but there are nearby bus lines, and cabs are reasonably priced and easy to get.

We didn't swim (too cold!), but the hot tub was nice, and the grounds are beautiful with tangerine and lemon trees.

We would definitely stay again and look forward to the next visit.

adorable and friendly

my friends and i stayed here Coachella weekend - there were 3 of us, so the manager supplied a roll-away bed for a small fee, and when we had a problem with the roll-away, it was quickly replaced. otherwise, there were no problems, and we found the condo to be adorable. I'm not sure about closeness to tourist sites because we really only used it as a place to crash between trips to the festival, but i'll probably be back to try it again
